Off Label Use

If you like a light, lingering sting, this is your toy. Just don't expect anything firm or heavy out of it, it isn't made for that. It's got a fine noise, though, and a versatile size. Good for beginners or extended collections!

Use

This would make a nice, non-intimidating paddle for beginners, and I think it would be a good purchase for anyone who likes impact play without much pain. It would take some work to inflict real pain with this. By that token, anyone who's into actual pain play should buy something heavier, because this is unlikely to float your boat.

One use I did find it very apt for, though, was pussy spanking. It's a pretty small paddle and fits between spread legs. This is not a use for total beginners, and requires care to keep from inflicting real damage, but the light sting of it and the little snap in the tip were just right for that application.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

It's well designed, except for the handle. The handle is really not stiff enough to give any kind of leverage, and the force of the paddling is all down to the paddler's arm strength; using this will be a lot like giving a hand spanking. That said, the rest of it is well made with firmly stitched patent leather and no rough edges. The upper third of the paddle is actually split, so it had a little slapper effect. To get a true slapper sound, you will probably wish to gently bend the two tongues separate beforehand. The split tongues are lined with a light regular leather, so there're no raw surfaces. The paddle is about of a size to spank one buttock at a time, though it can also support some variations (see below). Because of the slickness of patent leather, the edges of the paddle are just a wee bit sharp; they won't cut, but they are a bit sharp. This can actually be an advantage (see also below).

Performance

How well you like this will really depend on what kind of sensation you're after. This has a nice, light sting, and the sting and heat linger for a little while—fifteen minutes to half an hour or so, depending on how long the spanking was. It raises a nice pink, but is unlikely to do more. It has a fairly loud, sharp noise, especially if you separate the tongues a bit first, and should make people who enjoy the sound pretty happy. It's very much a toy for light play. If that's what you want, this is totally your paddle. If what you want is more serious marks or pain, get a different one.

I experimented a little with this one, and I found that, while it's got a pretty light sting when used flat across the buttocks, angling it to strike more with the tip will give a sharper sting. This is especially so if it's held straight up and down over the valley of the buttocks, because then the edges bite into each cheek while the tip snaps just a little above the vaginal entrance or balls. It's not an easy angle for an OTK spanking, but if you're standing beside someone who's bent over, it's a possibility to keep in mind.

It also works very nicely for light pussy spanking, though I recommend being very careful not to snap the tip against the clit; the patent edge would be dangerous there. It's a good size for use between the legs, though, and the little extra snap of the slapper tip over the vaginal entrance was very tasty.

The floppiness of the handle does mean that this one works on pure muscle power, with no leverage to speak of; this is why it's such a light toy. It's stingier than a hand spanking, but has much the same force.

Care and Maintenance

It's patent leather, so it cleans easily with a damp cloth or wipe. Just be careful not to get the inner sides of the tongues wet, or, if you do, be sure to give them a nice round of leather soap and oil. It has a soft, nylon cord at the handle, which works just as well for hanging as it does for a lanyard. The paddle is very light, so it won't stretch the cord if hung by it.

Packaging

The packaging is very not discreet, and not elaborate. It comes in a clear plastic bag. There are no instructions, but something this minimal and lightweight doesn't really need any.

Personal comments

I like this paddle for what it is, which is a lightweight toy. The patent offers a bit more sting than a hand, and that's nice to have, either for light play or for warming up. The floppy handle really does drive me a little crazy, though.

Experience

As a paddle-ee, I liked the sting, and I liked how it lingered, but I think most days I would want something more substantial. This coming from someone who is not particularly interested in pain. The spanking over my vaginal entrance, however, got me very hot; this toy has a really nice shape, size, and weight for that.

As a paddle-er, I have to say, this one is kind of tiring. By the time the paddle-ee is satisfied, my shoulder is pretty darn tired. The sound is very satisfying, though, and it's an easy toy to control.
Follow-up commentary
A few months later: I still like this paddle for what it is. When I want a surface sting that will last, this is the one I go to. When I want a deeper burn, then I turn to my heavier paddle. I will also add, the times I've switched over from this to a heavier one made for a really nice progression. I'd especially recommend this as part of a collection, if you want a wide range of sensation.

Excellent review, nice job on this one! It's not really the sort of paddle I'm interested in (those floppy handles drive me nuts, too), but I'm glad that you got some use out of it!

    Awesome review!

I don't think I'll be picking up this paddle, as the floppy handle would just annoy me and I do tend to be a bit heavier player.

I've been looking into this one and I came to the same conclusion that you (and apparently, Sir, too) did - floppy handles make me crazy. However, it's very very pretty, so I don't know. I'm still on the fence.

    Thanks for the great review!!!
