Bamboo cane - flogging toy by Spartacus - review by D.M.

Upon receiving this cane, I must say that I was impressed. Having bought floggers and crops from online stores specifically geared towards bdsm, I wasn't sure what to expect. But this cane is all quality – a finely crafted smooth length of bamboo, handle wrapped in black leather and finished with silver studs, and a thin whippy tip crowned in a soft black rubber cap.

I wanted to try it out right away, and my husband (he and I are both switches) offered himself up as my guinea pig. Right away, I realized that this was no mere toy, but instead, a finely crafted implement with a wide range of potential. In the hand, the Bamboo cane feels nice. It has a good weight to it, a good heft, and the leather-wrapped handle feels good in the palm of your hand. Swinging it from the wrist, using the smallest movement of the arm will allow you to learn the full range and potential of this cane. The length can be used sensually, rolled over the skin to awaken the nerve endings, or it can be tapped gently and rapidly, bringing blood to the surface of the skin to enhance sensation without causing pain. We found that we preferred to alternate these gentle taps with harder strikes, giving the body a chance to recover and fully experience both pain and pleasure.

We took it with us to a local play party to try it out as part of a scene and to compare and contrast it with similar implements. Overall, the cane really impressed everyone. People like a toy that looks as good as it performs, and this cane is a beautifully crafted object that I was proud to pull out of my toy bag.

My husband topped me for this scene so that I would be able to experience the cane from the receiving end. He warmed me up, first with his hands, then with a flogger, then ran the cool length of the cane over my hot skin, leaving cooling sensual trails. It was an extremely sensory experience, and I was pleasantly surprised to experience the cane as something other than a pain implement. When he started to strike me with it, he started out very lightly, barely flicking his wrist. Each stroke was like electricity searing across my skin, painful yet incredibly pleasurable and always very intense.
