Pleasure and pain paddle

Overall I'd say that this toy was an interesting idea that didn't quite work. It does the job of a paddle just fine, but the vibrator part leaves something to be desired. I did enjoy the combination of pain and pleasure and feel that this toy has potential, it just needs to work out some of the design flaws with the battery compartment and vibrator location.
Published:
Pros
Good size paddle surface, sturdy design, comfortable handle grips.
Cons
Battery compartment and vibrator location need improvement.

When I first saw the VibraWhip Paddle I was intrigued. I am into the BDSM scene and have felt a number of paddles, whips, floggers, canes, crops and other implements smack my ass, but I had never seen a vibrating one. I just had to have it!

When the paddle arrived I immediately went to put batteries in it. First of all I found the batter compartment closure very difficult to pop open. I followed the instructions and eagerly pressed the button… nothing. I rotated the batteries around and pressed it again… still nothing. I was convinced I had a broken product, but later that night my husband managed to get it working. I’m still not sure what I did wrong and any time I open the battery compartment it stops working again! It has very temperamental wiring.

The leather that the handle is made of is claimed to be high quality leather, but I’ll tell you it isn’t. My friend runs a leather supply store and when he looked at it he scoffed. It is however a good size (12 cm high and 9cm wide) to give a nice smacking surface area in the shape similar to a hand. It is made of two pieces of leather that are glued together to about halfway and then the top part the pieces are left separate. This allows the two sides of the surface to smack together creating a louder sound upon impact. The rod in the middle appears to be plastic but looks strong and the red lacing detail at the end looks quite nice. The handle is plastic but coated by a soft rubbery type material which provides a good grip. It is a good width, at a 3 ½ cm diameter, which sits nicely in the hand. With the batteries in it also has a good weight to it, which makes it nicely balanced.

There are four different types of vibrations that are easily controlled by pressing part of the surface on the handle to cycle through them, or hold it down continually to turn it off. The vibrator part of this toy is located in the handle. This seemed a little strange to me, as I didn’t see how it would add anything to the paddling experience. When I tried it though, I did find that the vibrations traveled nicely down the shaft and to the leather surface. My husband however, commented that the vibrations were too strong in the handle and he found it quite irritating. It would have been better if they could have designed some way to have the vibrator near the paddle surface.

In use, I found the sensations the paddle delivered were quite nice. It was able to give a hard thuddy sensation, as well as a lighter stingy feeling depending on how it was used. My husband was very fond of the loud smacking noise that it created against my ass. In between bouts of hard smacks he would turn on the vibrator and gently rub the paddle surface against my ass. This would help me to relax again and get me ready for another beating.

During the actual blows themselves, the vibrator could hardly be felt though. We did run into another problem with the vibrator. At one point it stopped working suddenly. He thought that the batteries had run out, but it turns out that his grip on the handle had started to pop off the end of the battery compartment and the connection had been lost. The battery compartment design on this toy just seems to be a pain in the ass… and not the type the toy was meant to!!

I agree that the idea of a vibrating whip sounds a bit odd. It would seem that the very brief instance the paddle connects with the skin during a strike, could not be enough to notice any of the vibrations added by the Vibrawhip. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe the vibrations traveling through the paddle are intended for a soothing sensation against the skin in between the periods of merciless punishment.

Did you feel like the shaft of the flogger could shatter upon impact? I am truly afraid with mine to get too rough for fear of it splintering. As far as the vibrations, we really only use mine for breaks in between- alternating between the low buzzy vibrations and the sharp, stinging cat tails.

    Hello! Thanks for the comments.

Yeti: We came to the same conclusion as you- the vibrations are basically only useful for breaks in between impact play

Sleeping Dreamer: I actually felt the shaft seemed fairly strong. My husband likes to play hard and he didn't hold back when using it.

Seems like an odd idea to me. Interesting to hear how it worked
