Clitoral jewelry discontinued

Pretty but problematic.

The beading on this clamp is pretty and feminine without being overly so, appealing to those of us that are not incredibly girly girl. Unfortunately it's performance is more frustrating than pleasurable.

Pros
Beading is very pretty, black arms are a nice change.
Cons
Scratched, tips too large and fall off, too much flex, will not stay on at all.

I love Spartacus. I really wanted to love this clamp. It's pretty, really pretty - if you can overlook the scratches on the black finish that expose the bare metal underneath. Or the fact that the rubber tips are huge (at over half an inch long, they are over half as long as the decorative beading)and overshadow the clit the clamp is designed to highlight and tease. The inch long bead work dangle is pretty and decorative in clear glass, black glass, hematite looking glass and a small decorative metal bead. It is nice that the beads are glass instead of the usual cheap plastic beads one tends to encounter in adult adornments. The bead work is shimmery without being tacky or gaudy which is a positive that is, unfortunately, outweighed by the problems presented by this clamp.

The rubber tips slide right off with little to no encouragement- they even slip and slide when the clamp is simply tightened! This, as one could imagine, is not very conducive to the clamp staying in place. I own another Spartacus clit clamp and a set of their tweezer nipple clamps and neither have this problem, so I think it is just with the design and tips used on this particular clamp. I also noticed that the metal portion of the clamp (what would be tweezer arms if they were indeed a set of tweezers) are thin, much thinner than the other clamps I own, and bend when the tightening ring is slipped up. This flex causes the clamps to actually loosen instead of tighten the farther up the tightening ring is slid.

The clamp came packaged very minimally and easy to get into, even though it was clamshell type packing. The photo on the slip of paper is very tasteful, seductive without being skanky. Cleanup is simple- warm soapy water and dry well.
Experience
I have not included any experiences playing with this toy for one big reason - I could not get it to tighten enough to stay on, even without the rubber tips. The metal simply has too much flex in it. This is a subpar product from a company I am usually consistently very pleased with.
Follow-up commentary
This clamp has been in the back recesses of my BDSM chest for so long that I nearly forgot that I have it! The problems with it render what could be such a pretty accessory virtually useless. Unfortunately, there is no working around its weaknesses that I have found, and I still cannot recommend this clamp.

I haven't ever thought of using one of these, and I doubt I will be in the near future, but thanks.

    Thanks everyone for the comments!

Mistress Kay, I really like tweezer clamps as well (my favorite set are tweezers!) these just didn't work for me, mainly because the metal had entirely too much flex to it and the little rubber tips kept sliding off.

I am really sorry this pair didn't work for you. How would you clean these (to keep them sterile for sharing and whatnot)? Did you try them without the pads at all? How long is the whole clamp? Do they weigh a lot compared to other clamps like them?

    J's Alley-

Since the tips are rubber, which cannot be sterilized, I wouldn't recommend sharing. I suppose you could take off the rubber tips and, if you do so, clean with rubbing alcohol or a bleach solution. I still probably wouldn't advise sharing though just due to the fact fluids can get behind the beads and would be nearly impossible to clean without disassembling the bead work.

I did try it without the rubber clamps, I mentioned that I could not get them to stay on, even without the rubber tips.

I did double check what the product description gives for length ( 3 3/4") is correct. I know sometimes it's a bit off and, in those cases, I include it. Winking That is the length of the clamp including decorative beading, which I think might be your question, am I understanding that right?

It is very light as it is not a weighted clamp, just ornamentation who's sole purpose is to be pretty. Compared to other decorative clamps, I would say it weighs the same, which would be next to nothing. This is definitely not something to purchase if you are looking for any kind of weight at all.

I hope I addressed all of your questions! If you think of anything else, feel free to ask. Smile
