Vegan ball gag - headgear by ASLAN Leather - review by Juliettia

There is something about seeing someone restrained with a ballgag that I’ve always found to be hot. However, being the one restrained is something I quickly discovered to be quite erotic and arousing. So when I started my search for something that would suit my needs, the Vegan Silicone Ball Gag by ASLAN Leather was a choice that I able to make without a second thought.

This lovely beauty features high quality flax leather available in red or black. The black leather has a matte finish with a soft unfinished inside. On the inside next to the non-locking buckle you’ll find a small black tag that features the company name. Unlike most tags I did not have any problems with it itching my neck or head.

However if you think it may be a problem or you experience one you can easily snip the tag off. I e-mailed Carrie Gray of ASLAN Leathers who stated that they would still honor the lifetime warranty of their products if you snip the tag off. I find this to be totally awesome as most companies would not honor the product if you defect it in any way.

From end to end the gag measures 26”. It features 10 holes that measure 3/4” apart. With this range you can fasten it a maximum of 24” to a minimum of 16”. Despite having this range we found that it wasn’t quite tight enough to hold the ball gag firmly in my mouth. I was able to spit it out while on the 16” setting. While I would never do such a thing during play, a more defiant submissive might.

The ball itself is 2” in diameter and perfect for muffling. It’s a little on the larger side and should be avoided if you have any sort of dental, jaw, or breathing problems. It is made of silicone and is soft to the bite, so if you’re in the heat of the moment and bite down you are safe. Along with the softness the silicone does not have any offending taste, smell, and hasn’t displayed any signs of teeth marks.

One thing that I was apprehensive about before trying the gag out was the snaps that remove the ball from the rest of the hardware. I am not a fan of quick release features because I think they are a little lame. However, I was pleased to find that these snaps unsnap from the inside rather than the outside, almost eliminating the quick release function. It makes it much tougher for a submissive to undo the snap and slip it through the D ring themselves.

The snaps are not intended to serve as a quick release but rather to allow you to remove the silicone ball from the straps so that you can clean it. Since the ball can be removed you are able to easily clean it with soap and water. You can also sterilize the ball by boiling it if you want to be ultra clean or have plans to share.

Leather should not be cleaned unless absolutely necessary. If you wish to clean the leather you can do so by using a moist cloth and a little dish soap or leather cleaner. Take care to not leave any excess soap behind before patting it dry. The best way to break in leather is to use the product as leather conditioners are designed to soften the dry and weakened areas of the leather.

Overall, I was quite impressed with the quality of the Vegan Silicone Ball Gag. It is easy to use, clean, and store making it a perfect addition for anyone looking to add some spice to their bedroom activities or muffle their submissive.

I only wish that I wasn't so lazy and would have sent the item back to receive the red leather version that I had requested when I saw that I had received the black version instead. This is just a matter of personal preference though, the black really is a beautiful leather, but the red version really pops and has a sexy appeal.

Four months in and the ball gag has not failed my expectations. The leather is still as soft and strong as it was the day I received it. I've had no troubles switching out the ball with a smaller silicone ball, so I can't imagine anyone else who would need a smaller one would. Just make sure that it has the hole through the middle so you can slip the leather through.

I still wish I would have sent it in to get the red leather that I originally wanted though.
