Romantic Restraint

The Silky Seductions Restraints would be an excellent choice for beginners or those who enjoy light restraint play. The sashes are very soft against the skin with a non-intimidating appearance. The sashes are very simple to use while still being effective (at restraining).
Published:
Pros
lightweight, comfortable, soft, non-intimidating, good length, great for beginners.
Cons
only for light-medium restraint, not as much information on packaging as I would have liked.

extremely useful review
The Silky Seductions Restraints arrived in a thin purple cardboard box. The front of the box states the product name and a brief product description. The back of the box states the product name again, has a photo of a model wearing the restraints, states the contents of the package, the measurements of the restraints, and company contact information. The purple background to the package resembles a satin bed sheet.

The packaging opens at the side. It arrived sealed with a circular, clear sticker. The package opens up like a book. There are 2 folded black silk sashes sitting within the package. There are no instructions for the product, no knotting techniques given, and no care instructions for the material. Instructions aren’t necessarily needed, knotting techniques would have been a bonus, but care instructions seem rather pertinent (in my opinion). You could use the box for storing the sashes when they are not in use but I prefer hanging them up that way I don’t have to fold them every time we are done using them.

There are 2 long, black sashes included in the kit. The product page states that the sashes are made of silk, though the packaging doesn’t really state the material composition and there is no care tag on the sashes. The sashes are around the same size (there is an inch in difference between them). The sashes are approximately 45 inches long and 3 ¾ inches wide. If you plan on using these for blindfolds or wrist restraints, there is enough length to the sashes to fit anybody of any size. The ends of each sash are cut and hemmed on an angle.

The packaging says that the product is “…great for naughty bedroom games or you can use them as blindfolds!” My partner and I really like these sashes to use for wrist restraint. To tie the sash and make it secure, I ask him to hold his hands in front of him, side by side, palms down. I think put the sash over top of his wrist area; take the ends of the sashes and figure 8 around his wrists, and then tie. We found this to be a pretty effective way of tying the sash so that it is less likely to come undone during play. For those who are into rougher, serious restraint play, these probably wouldn’t be the best choice for you. I asked my partner to struggle to try and get out of the restraints and eventually he was able to loosen the knot. It did take him some time but he managed to escape.

You don’t need to use the sashes for wrist restraint though. You could use them to blindfold yourself or your partner, tie one end to a bedpost and the other to an ankle/wrist of your partner, really, whatever your imagination can think of. My initial thought when I seen the sashes was, “hey, they’d make great head scarves”. I did try using a sash as a blindfold and noticed that there was still a bit of light showing through the bottom of the blindfold (around the nose). In the stock photo on the product page, the model is wearing the sash as a blindfold but clearly it’s very loosely tied. It can be tied tighter than this to make it more secure on the head.

The material is really soft against the skin and the sashes are lightweight. They’re very comfortable and I have no complaints about the material being bothersome to my own or my partner’s skin. To care for the material, hand wash the sashes in cold water with a very mild soap. Let the sashes air dry, away from the sun and out of heat.

I think the sashes would be great for beginners or for those who are into light restraint play. The sashes are comfortable to wear, soft against the skin, and non-intimidating. There is enough length to the sashes for a beginner to work with, but not an overwhelming amount where the person would wonder what to do with the rest.
Experience
...continued

For my partner and I, we prefer using cuffs and eye masks to the sashes. We did enjoy using them for wrist restraint but it brought us back to before we had cuffs and used scarves and such for restraint. The sashes are very pretty, but we feel they have a much more romantic feel to them compared to our cuffs. Romantic isn’t bad, but it just doesn’t feel as kinky as we’d like it to.

Overall, I’m giving the Silky Seductions a 4 out of 5 rating. If you’ve never used restraints before and are a bit intimidated by the idea of cuffs, I would absolutely recommend that you give these sashes a try. They’re comfortable, cute, and have enough length to work with. There is no price listed on the product page as I write this review so I cannot comment on pricing. I’ve deducted one star from the rating because I feel the packaging lacked information (care instructions, material composition, etc).
Follow-up commentary
I guess the Silky Seduction Restraints never became available for purchase? That's okay. There are a few other products that are offered here at EF that are basically the same thing. Here are a few:

Black rose silky surrender – restraints

Fetish Fantasy grey silk ties – restraints

Sex and Mischief door play kit – restraints

Sex and Mischief silky restraints – restraints

All of the above links are to products that are the exact same as the Silky Seductions. They are long sashes of fabric that are used to restrain you or your partner. The last link there is nice because the sashes are available in a few different colours.

I just ended up using these sashes of fabric in my hair. My partner and I prefer to use cuffs.
