Xmas plush cuff set - light bdsm kit by Pipedream - review by Taylor

The Xmas plush cuff set by Pipedream is a fun BDSM kit that is good for a lot of laughs. It is not sturdy enough for any intense sessions and most likely won't work if you actually want to restrain someone, as most people will be able to break free from the restraints if they really want to. I think it is best used by couples as a sort of gag gift and would be good for those who only want some light bondage and are maybe intimidated by other sets. It also adds some lightheartedness which can be a wonderful thing. After all, how seriously could you possibly take a session where one of the partners is tied up by Santa Clause?

The set comes with a Santa hat, a blindfold, wrist cuffs, and ankle cuffs as you can see in my pictures below.

The craftsmanship left quite a bit to be desired and probably won't hold up to any sort of rough use.

The set is very plush feeling and feels sort of like a toy stuffed animal would feel. It is very comfortable and is not itchy or anything like that. Each piece also has some white marabou trim which seems to have been hot glued on. It does not stay on well at all and it could easily get torn off during play or if a pet finds it (which is what happened to mine).

The wrist cuffs are just a bit over 9" long and are secured by Velcro. The ankle cuffs are about 11.5" long. The cuffs are fastened to the chains that do detach, so if you wanted to hook a wrist to an ankle for example you could do it. The metal used seems pretty cheap and it bends easily. I was able to break the chain by pulling on it

The hat was pretty small. It didn't fit me and definitely did not come anywhere near close to fitting my partner. It might work for petite people though. I usually wear a "medium" when it comes to hats and helmets and things that go on my head so anyone with average or above average sized heads might need to find a different hat to wear if they choose to get this set.

I would say that the set performed well as a source of fun and silliness. It clearly was not meant to be used for strict bondage and should not be confused with a set that was meant for such. This set will fall apart and probably be destroyed with heavier use. The cuffs aren't secured that well by the Velcro and the chains break very easily.

Probably the best bet for cleaning this set is to spot clean with a damp cloth. If you get it wet, it is likely the set will get ruined. It is easy to store either in a bag or a box or wherever, but it is a good idea to store it in some sort of container because it tends to shed quite a bit.

The set comes in a recyclable cardboard box. Like many of Pipedream's Festish Fantasy line of products, the Xmas set does not have discreet packaging at all. If you have the box left out, everyone will know exactly what is inside. The packaging didn't include much in the way of instructions, but since it is a pretty intuitive product I didn't find that to be a problem. The packaging would work well for storage, especially if you don't want the marabou getting all over the place. Whether or not you use the box for storage, it is a good idea to find some sort of storage for your set if you intend on keeping it around because the marabou does seem to like to get everywhere.

We loved this set as kind of a joke and we both found it very amusing. I surprised my partner with it one day and neither one of us could quit laughing. Something about the combination of bondage and Santa Claus really amuses us. He loved coming home to find his "little present." We knew it wasn't something to hold up to intense play, but we love it for being playful. It's probably not a set that's going to hold up to a ton of use, but it's fun to pull out a few times during the holiday season for a more festive feel. For quality I would probably rate this toy at a 1 or 2, but since it really was a fun toy for us I am giving it a 3.
