Satin blindfold by Bijoux Indiscrets
The satin blindfold by Bijoux Indiscrets is a surprisingly versatile accessory. I may not have loved it at first, but I certainly do now! This is wonderful for light or heavier BDSM play, even for sensually romantic evenings this blindfold is sexy and comfortable.Published: July 15, 2008
Pros:
Can be worn more than one way, satin, very sexy and sensual
Cons:
Requires some knot tying skill
I was disappointed during my first use of this satin blindfold. I used it traditionally. Just put it on and tied a knot with a bow at the back of my head. During that use, I could see some light and it didn’t fit as well around my nose as I wanted it to. Also it only took a few minutes of use before the slippery material loosened and it was falling down my face. I had high hopes for this blind fold. I had hoped that its design would lend it to be functional but still incredibly sensual. I finally got tired of adjusting and repositioning it and just gave up for the night.
I now love this blind fold after doing some experimenting with it. This thing is just shy of 7 feet long! What that meant was that I was able to put it on and wrap it back around the front over my eyes and have enough length left to tie it behind my head. This might not be as sensual, but it is unbeatable in its functionality. It stayed put with two regular knots, and remained comfortable during a two hour play session. Wearing it like this, I was unable to see anything. Even during the day, it creates a perfect black out.
I might not have been thrilled with this blind fold on my first use, but the more I use it the more I realize just how great it is. It may help if I was better at tying knots. I do really love now that I can wear this normal for really light sensual play or I can wrap it around again and have complete sight sensory deprivation.
On one side of the blindfold it has “Oooooh” in red embroidery and “Shhhh” on the other side in white. I don’t know how many of you are fanatical about matching accessories up, but for me I really love this. The white lettering goes lovely with my white and black Jaguar cuffs and other bdsm gear, while the red lettering seems a little more sensual for when we are only doing seductive tickling and teasing. I also would like to point out that this works great for gentle wrist or ankle restraints. The satin is silky smooth on skin, and doesn’t seem to be showing any wear. I have found a double knot to be adequate, but I’m sure a knot aficionado could find a knot better suited for this kind of play.
I have not had the misfortune of getting this dirty yet, so I have not washed it. I imagine it would be fine in the gentle cycle along with your other intimate clothing. The quality appears to be good, so I can’t imagine this falling apart in the wash.
I would recommend this blindfold to people just starting out with sensory deprivation play and more advanced players as well. This toy really is quite versatile once you get used to it.

Which type of blindfolds do you prefer?
-
The simple cloth ones or the ones that shape your eyes?
I like the look of the cloth ones, and it seems more authentic, I've never tired the fitted ones! What do you think? -
I usually just use a bandanna.

Quote: The simple cloth ones or the ones that shape your eyes?As long as it blocks out all or 99% of the light it doesn't really matter but I sort of prefer the fitted style.

Thank you for viewing Shhh – sex toy review page!

I really love using this blind fold now that I have gotten a little better at tying knots. If anyone has a suggestion of a really great knot for this kind of use, let me know! My double knots seem to be working pretty well, but I have to get them tight enough. I am sure there is a better way that I just don't know about yet.
So it's basically a 7' length of satiny cloth? Glad you're getting such great use out of it, though!
Yes basically. It has a spot that is gathered a little to create a spot for the wearer’s nose. Also the middle "blind fold" part is thicker than the rest of it. I ran out of room in the review :( I can't wait for the update on word limit
Amen to that! Sorry, was just being silly. :)
Ha ha, that happens from time to time :)
I bet you could wash it in the sink in woolite too :)
Yes, I imagine that would be best for the black to not fade so badly. Great suggestion Essin' Em!
As far as good knots- I would try the Trucker's Hitch in that webpage article on the left.
There are a number of other ones, too...
Thanks Cock Wrangler! I will definitely give the Trucker's Hitch a try.
Ooh.. this sounds really cool- very versatile! I'm just getting into sensory deprivation, and this sounds useful! Thanks for the review!
