Plushy gear lover’s eye mask - blindfold by Cal Exotics - review by ~LaUr3n~

Someone...ahem...my boyfriend, lost my favorite blindfold and I have been meaning to replace it for months now. My sleep schedule has been completely backwards lately which means that I sleep when it is light outside. This posses a problem since it's hard for me to sleep with light in the room. I tried to cover the window with a sheet, but that only blocked out so much light. I NEEDED a new blindfold pronto. I wasn't being too choosy and just decided to get a cheap temp one for now. The Plushy Gear Lover's Eye Mask from California Exotic arrived today and I am seriously impressed! I got to use it for a much needed nap and some sexual play, both the mask worked wonderfully for. It is comfy, plush, and fits a wide range of head sizes.

The mask is a really nice shape and size. The top is almost straight across, while the bottom is shaped the go well below the bottom of the eyes and have a cut out for the nose. Since the material is so soft, it doesn't even matter if your nose is too big, the material will mold to you. It is 8.5" across so there is plenty of fabric to block out the light. The thickest portion of the mask from top to bottom is 3".

This main part of the mask is made of velvety/fleece feeling polyester. It is soft to the touch and very smooth. This is on the front and back, so it feels nice against the eyes as well. There is some sort of padding in between that also makes it plush. This is my favorite part! The material is thick so it won't show any light through.

The mask is secured onto the head by a spandex band that attaches to both sides of the mask. It is an inch wide, so it really makes the mask feel secure. I have really thick hair so it's hard to measure my head size accurately, but it fit ~22" comfortably. The band stretches nicely and didn't feel too tight on myself or my partner (whose head is larger than mine at 23"). On him, it doesn't look as nice since it pulls the mask from the sides more. He said it still blocked out light and was very comfortable.

The mask does have a bit of smell to it, but that is nothing a spray of perfume didn't fix!

There is nothing about this product that makes it look sexual in itself. It really does look like a sleep mask.

I immediately took this for a test drive when I took a nap. There is something about the plushness that is comforting. I swear I feel asleep sooner than I normally would have. It blocked out all the light and felt comfortable sitting right above my ears. I did have to make sure I wore my hair back in a ponytail or bun. Otherwise, it can slide off during sleep. Afterward, I found that it folds easily and ticks away nicely into my pillow case. Later on, my boyfriend needed to review a new Fleshlight. I used the blindfold on him and then stroked the Fleshlight on him. He said that not being able to see made him able to imagine it was real even more. Blindfolding is a simple and easy way to increase the senses and heighten arousal. This blindfold works well for both uses.

To clean, I would spot clean if you can or wash by hand in cold water. You may be able to tumble dry on low if you put it in a lingerie bag. To store, it easily folds in half and can be tucked away in a nightstand, pillow case, or drawer.

The packaging is a bit large for what this is. First it comes in a large white, cardboard box with a picture of a couple using the mask on the front and back. Inside, the mask is wrapped in plastic. I threw all of this away since it really isn't needed and takes up too much space.
