Black cat collar - collar by ASLAN Leather - review by Kayla

The Black Cat Collar is a nice, pretty vinyl collar made by ASLAN leather. It's one and half inches wide and nineteen and a half inches long, so it can fit necks varying from sixteen to nineteen inches in circumference. It's made from high-grade vinyl and metal and comes in black.

The collar just comes in plain plastic wrap with a tag for ASLAN leather attached to it. Since it won't be shipped flat, I recommend you let the collar stay out on a flat surface for awhile so it will flatten out. It will make it easier to use and put on your partner/self.

The collar itself is very well made. The layers of vinyl are stitched together all around the outside and then stitched again to the center piece that holds on the O-ring and that the rivets are on. The silver rivets just help reinforce the vinyl stitching that is already there. The giant O-ring is pretty heavy and definitely makes its presence known. It's attached to a little triangular ring that doesn't get in the way. However, it is well-stitched on there and definitely will easily hold up to having a leash attached to it.

The buckle of this collar is a locking buckle. That means that the buckle has a circle on it that allows you to put a small lock through it if you'd like. This is something that should be talked about with your partner before you attempt it, and make sure you know the lock works and that you have the set of keys. As with all locks, make sure you have a spare set of keys or better yet - a bolt cutter in case the lock malfunctions. This collar does not come with a lock and key set, but you can pick one up at your local store for little cost.

Because it's vinyl, buckling up this collar can be a little difficult since vinyl tends to enjoy holding its shape, but it's nothing to write home about. With a little patience (and practice), you'll be able to get this on within seconds.

The back of the collar does have the backside of set rivets, but my boyfriend said that you can't feel the rivets while you're wearing it. He says that the collar itself isn't scratchy at all, and even hours-long wear didn't make his neck sweaty or uncomfortable. I also personally recommend that you don't leave it on too long, and be sure to take it off if your partner asks, but it is safe to leave on for long periods of time. He says it also limited his "up/down" movements of his head, but not by much. He says it's nowhere near a posture collar.

Despite being a beautiful collar, it holds up well to actual play. I can easily tug him around on a leash, and it isn't going to come off. It's very durably made, and it's obvious it was made to look beautiful during play - not just to look beautiful. It barely weighs anything as well, so it's comfortable for long periods of wear. It's also vegan which is a plus to some BDSM players.

Since it's made of vinyl, it's really easy to clean. A washcloth with warm water and some antibacterial soap will work wonders. You can share this collar since it shouldn't get near bodily fluids, but why not keep one just for yourself?

Overall, I recommend this Black Cat Collar to anyone with any amounts of experience. It's a beautiful collar, easy to put on, and when you're ready for it, it can be locked with a small lock. Vinyl collars are very rare (most people prefer leather), so you'll be really unique if you take this out in public as well. It's a great price for a collar, and it's a well-made, durable collar that I can see having for years to come.

This is our favorite collar now. It's the one we always grab when he's going to be in full bondage gear or even just to put him in it for small periods of time. It's ridiculously sexy on him, and I love (and he loves) that I can put a lock on it, and he's not getting out without my key.

I seriously wish I could give this six stars. There is nothing wrong with it.

On the plus side, it also could function as a "fashion" accessory if you wanted to wear it in public.

This is still the collar that we go to when we want a BDSM collar that will hold up to some heavy play. We can't use this for public because it's so obvious it's a collar, but for in the house, this honestly the most perfect collar ever.

We've been laying the collar flat in the bedroom so that keeps it from holding a curved shape. When storing this, make sure not to crinkle it up and lay weight on it because it will retain the shape you leave it in which isn't fun.

It isn't peeling or anything though. The Vinyl still looks gorgeous, and when it starts to look a little dull, we just pat it down with some warm water and it looks nice again.
