Sinfully soft, Decadently delightful!

A serious collar that shines with superlatives, this is an all-around great collar for serious bondage. It's very well made and will take a ton of abuse. The clean lines and intense colors are visually attractive without taking away from the functionality of the collar. It's comfortable, strong, and smells like leather should smell.
Bottom line? It works. Well. And looks darn good doing so.

Use

Let me get this out right up front: this is easily one of my favorite collars, ever. It is definitely my favorite tether-able, lockable collar. It's comfortable, which is a HUGE selling point for bondage gear for me. It's very attractive, in rich black and red that matches much of my other gear. It's easy to put on and take off quickly. It's sturdy and well-made. It doesn't chafe. The large width and ring placement distribute force well. In a nutshell, I am absolutely in love.

This may be too serious and intense-looking a collar for many beginners, but it offers some key features that would make it a good choice for those just starting with bondage. Because it's easy to take on and off quickly, if one of the parties involved suddenly needs out NOW, getting them unbound is quick. Because of the design, accidentally playing a little too hard is less likely to result in a bruised or, dildos forbid, broken neck. Moderately advanced users will find it a great collar for heavier play that allows a fun variety of tethering configurations. The most advanced of users will have to decide for themselves if this is right for them, as it may not be up to very heavy play or hours-to-days long use.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The Sinfully Soft Leather Collar is made of leather, and unlike many leather restraints, it SMELLS right. It has that elusive smell of leather, instead of processing chemicals and plastics. A period of breaking in is definitely recommended before use (think bending and rolling it around in your hands). It becomes much more soft and supple after a bit of breaking in, making the collar far more comfortable and form-fitting.

The overall design of this collar is very well thought out. It's simple, but it just works. The long line of buckle holes means it fits a wide range of neck sizes well, and they are close enough together that most users will be able to get pretty close to their neck size. The placement and spacing of the D-rings distribute force well, avoiding the pressure spots and pinching many lesser collars inflict. The workmanship of the collar is superb, and it's very sturdy. With some care, it looks like it will last through many years of hard use.

This collar is not something that can be worn as jewelry without being obviously kinky. Outside of a costume setting, it would be hard to mistake to for anything but a bondage collar, meant to be used.

Performance

Once the collar was broken in, putting it on and adjusting it was quick and easy. Unlike cheaper leather collars, there was no painful straining to adjust it to a comfortable size. While many collars have only one ring, the three on the Sinfully soft allowed for some interesting positions: sides tethered to under bed restraint system with the hands; hands clipped to sides, center to leash; sides tethered to feet, center clipped to both wrists... and so on. Slipping the collar around backwards and running a tether back to a hog-tie is a fun option, too. It was more than strong enough for the kind of play we put it through. (it also held up quite well to a tug-o-war stress test we put it through for the more adventurous users) You can't use it for suspension or really, really hard play (it's not padded, and it's just not built for those applications), but otherwise it'll take anything you throw at it.

Thanks to all of you! Part of the reason it's so wide is for functionality: the more surface area it has, the less likely it is to damage the neck during rough play. If you're not playing quite that rough, then it's not necessary and becomes a cosmetic issue.

I'd love it if they made a thinner single "wearing" collar that matched this one. It's such a pretty, wonderful collar, it would be great to be able to wear it out and about.

@Dusk - it is very comfortable, because the leather is soft. The lack of padding just means you can't jerk it around too roughly or use it for, say, suspension without danger of hurting the wearer. Definitely practice a little to figure out what is and isn't comfortable/safe before play time.
