The Icicles No. 38 is two toys in one. It's both a very effective and stingy flogger as well as a quite girthy glass dildo. Most of the time when an item has dual purposes it doesn't do either effectively, but in the case of this toy, it is very successful at both.

The handle of this can be used as a dildo. I would only insert it vaginally because of the shape, but it could be used anally as well. If it is used anally, I would recommend holding on to the toy. You wouldn't want the leather portion pulled into the body by a stray muscle spam.

This is made from glass, so be careful with thrusting this toy to vigorously; it can bruise the cervix because it is rigid.

This toy has two parts to it to go with its two different functions. The falls of the flogger are made from a supple leather. The dildo is made from glass. The dildo is covered in a swirled texture from the leather falls to where the round know at the end is. The round knob is completely smooth which creates a strange, but good, sensation when inserted.

The glass is smooth and is great for temperature play. Just soak it for 15 minutes in water that is the desired temperature, but make sure not to get the leather wet. Glass does not come with any smells or tastes nor does it retain any, but leather smells like, well, leather. There is no escaping the smell of leather, but I like it, so it didn't bother me any.

The texture on this is pretty intense for me, but I don't enjoy a lot of texture on my toys. Beginners may find this to be a tad too much to handle. Glass is also completely rigid, so be careful when thrusting not to bruise anything. No one likes that.

This is a swirled glass handle/dildo with a leather wrap at the bottom holding on thin leather falls. The top knob of the dildo is also the end of the handle. It is a sphere that is 5" in circumference and 2" tall. It rests on a straight shaft that is 3.75" in circumference and 5.25" in length to the leather wrap. The wrap is 1.5" long. The handle is 9" in total length.

The falls are 1/8th of an inch wide and 20" long on average. There is slight variation in the falls, but that is normal for a flogger and they are all within 1/4 of an inch of each other. The falls are cut straight across at the bottom. They are very thin which makes them pretty stingy.

The handle has a wavy texture that is both noticeable in the hand and when inserted. The texture actually helps you hold onto this when it is used as a flogger. The glass is very smooth otherwise, so the waves creates ridges to help grip it.

The handle is a bit heavy compared to the falls, so the balance is slightly off on this flogger, but it's not a huge variation. This toy is still very usable.

As a flogger, this is stingy. We often use it as a warm up or cool down flogger. It can't give the bite that either of us like. It's just not intense enough, but we are moderate to advanced impact players, so beginners my find this toy a bit intense. It's still usable, but it does have a bit of bite to it.

As a dildo, this toy is really interesting in a good way. The large ball on the end creates a very noticeable popping sensation when it passes my pelvic bone. The texture is intense for me, but I don't love texture in general. It isn't too much, but it is right on the line for me. I loved the girth, but I love girthy toys whereas others my find this too big.

For storage, this flogger cannot be hung up because it doesn't have a wrist strap. We keep ours in a chest with our other gear, but you can store it however you like as long as the leather stays dry.

As for cleaning, you can wash this with mild detergent or toy cleaner and warm water, again making sure that the leather doesn't get wet, or use toy wipes. You can also sterilize it with a 10% bleach solution. To do that just wipe the solution on the toy and let it sit and wash it off later.

I found that the ridges trap fluids really easily so you may want to use a toothbrush to help clean this.

The packaging for this is nice but not discreet at all. It is a black and white card board box that has photos of the product on every side. The front says "Icicles/ hand blown glass whip" and then has the Pipedream logo at the bottom. The front of the box opens, and there is a plastic window through which you can see the toy nestled in foam. The inside of the lid and the back of the box explain how to care for this toy and use it.

to actually get to the toy, you have to open the top of the box and pull out the Styrofoam tray. The toy is nestled safely inside. The box is a bit large for storage, although you could easily use it for such. I prefer to store mine in a padded bag rather than the original packaging to save on space.

I would use the packaging for this for gift giving in a heart beat. It is sleek and very classy, but it isn't discreet.

So my dominant, actually sadist, came up with a very, very devious way of using this. He will flog me in a standing position with my arms bound above my head in suspension cuffs. After he is done with flogging me with this, he will insert it and let it go. I have to hold on to it with my kegels. It is so intense. While he leaves me holding on to it for dear life, he flogs me with another toy.
