I will begin by stating that I am someone who is fairly experienced in BDSM and am a submissive who enjoys impact play a lot. My boyfriend requested that I get this item to add to the selection of impact toys we have and my husband was equally excited to try it out. I looked forward see how it felt compared to the other items I have used in the past.

Upon inspection the paddle seems to be of sturdy construction. It has a solid core that makes it very firm and non-flexible when you use it. The leather side did have some flaws to it, which my boyfriend (who is a leather expert) said were just insect bites on the animal hide. The faux fur on the other side is nice and soft to the touch and was firmly sewed down on all sides with the exception of the area where it joins up with the handle. At this point it is glued down and I noticed it can be pulled back a bit if you try. However, the stitching on the remaining sides should keep it in place just fine.

My husband is a rather sadistic and heavy handed Top and this toy in his hands can be very painful! We found that it is so heavy and has such a large surface area that it really didn’t take much strength in strikes to make it have a strong impact. The leather side was very stingy while the fur side was more thuddy (but could still hurt when used hard enough). After the first experience of using this toy with him I was actually a little afraid of it!

Next we brought it to a few fetish parties where it was used by multiple other people. Everyone seemed to really like it. Many were impressed by the versatility of it as well as its strong impact. The main word that seemed to come up from most of the people who felt it was “evil”. However, keep in mind that in my circle of friends this is considered a good thing! Indeed, a particular friend of mine actually requested to borrow it for a night as she wanted her partner to use it on her. She remarked that it was very good for someone who is a rather heavy masochist like her. Her partner also loved it so much that he has now purchased his own! That sure says something!

I got a chance to try it out with my boyfriend in an extended scene involving just the paddle. He did a nice warm up using the fur side and then also used some harder ones on the leather side. He said that he liked the way that he could alternate between the two sides. On my end it was a bit of a mind fuck since I never knew which sensation was coming next. Sometimes he would even switch it alternating between the two sides with each strike. The result of this beating was a nicely red warm ass and a very happy me! My boyfriend really enjoyed using it and said that it was easy to use as it didn’t require much strength or effort to have a strong effect. He found it much less tiring than using a flogger and I imagine it would involve less skill too.

In the end I would offer the following cautions- this toy is more for people experienced with impact play. In the hands of someone inexperienced who doesn’t know to go light with this toy it could be very painful. On the flip side, it’s a great toy for masochists who are looking for a strong toy that packs a good punch. Plus it’s got the best of both worlds with sting and thud.
