Something Blue Cuffs Leave Something to Be Desired

During use, I was still able to move my arms around freely and was not nearly as restricted as I would be if I were wearing handcuffs. This is due not only to the flimsiness of the ribbon but also because it is very difficult to tie the ribbon in a way to hold your hands very close together. If you are looking for a very light experience where you aren't completely bound and have some range of motion, I would recommend this product. But otherwise, I wouldn't suggest it.

Use

A little light BDSM play is appealing to both my boyfriend and me. I was so excited to get these in the mail and to try the cuffs out. I have a pair of handcuffs in my toy collection, but they are without covers. They are a little too painful for regular use. I knew these cuffs would be way more comfortable and user friendly. Now that I have used the cuffs, I am a little less excited about using them again. I did find them extremely user friendly, and I think beginners and those interested in experimenting with being tied up will enjoy them. More advanced users may not enjoy these as much, however.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

Something Blue Satin Wrist Cuffs are a great idea that is executed relatively poorly. I enjoyed how the satin cuffs felt and how easy they were to put on and remove. The satin was soft against my skin and not painful at all. My problems with the product mainly stem from the ribbon used. In addition to performance issues caused by the ribbon, the ribbon is fairly scratchy and itchy. It seems a little flimsy and is not high quality craftsmanship. The white feather material at the end of the ribbon is a nice touch but doesn't really do anything to add or detract from its appeal.

Performance

The ribbon stitched to the cuffs really ruined the product for me. Once the ribbon is tied together, it does not hold the knot very tightly and has a lot of give. Also, the ribbon is not securely attached to the satin cuffs. After one use, the stitching attaching the ribbon ripped halfway down. I admit that some pulling on my part incited this; it didn't just spontaneously happen, but I still see it as a problem. If my boyfriend were using these cuffs, he would easily tear them apart. The cuffs are also a little small for his wrists. The satin part of the cuffs is better suited for women than for men, even though they are adjustable. My boyfriend put them on for a second but didn't want to use them and risk either breaking them or getting the Velcro caught in his arm hair.
    • Comfortable during use
    • Easy to put on / use

Packaging

The packaging is small but not very discreet. As you can see in the picture, there is a naked woman displaying the use of the product. The package is plastic and small in proportion to the size of the product. My boyfriend was taken aback by how tiny they looked, based on the package. The packaging could be used to store the cuffs inside something larger though, but this would probably not be an ideal solution. I imagine that continued opening and closing of the product packaging may lead to the plastic weakening since it is not designed for that.

Experience

During use, I was still able to move my arms around freely and was not nearly as restricted as I would be if I were wearing handcuffs. This is due not only to the flimsiness of the ribbon but also because it is very difficult to tie the ribbon in a way to hold your hands very close together.

I can see how these would be great for a scared partner or one who can't tolerate being restrained fully. For just a fun evening of light bondage these sound non threatening and kinda cute!

Yeah, I could see them being useful to beginners, for a weekend. But I feel like if one thinks they might be interested in play like this they might want to invest in something a little higher quality so they can get more use out of it!

I agree though that they are non threatening and could be fun for beginners!
