Recently my boyfriend and I have been experimenting with BDSM with everything from a restraint system, to a ball gag, and we thought it about time that we get a paddle and kick things up a notch. The first thing that caught my eye about the lovely "Pink play heart paddle" by Topco was the lovely bubblegum pink color, and the heart decorations along it's center. Next, my eyes glanced at the price and I was pleasantly surprised to see that such a visually appealing toy was only $11.99! Although I already found myself yearning to posses this toy I couldn't help but wondering: "how good could this paddle be for 12 bucks?" The hubby and I decided to try it out figuring even if it wasn't of the greatest quality, as long as we could get a few uses out of it, the price would make it a steal! So, we put in an order and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product for such a reasonable price.

The "Pink play heart paddle" is the perfect paddle for both beginners and more experienced users alike. Beginners can use it lightly to experiment with BDSM, while more advanced users can put more force behind their swings to create a more lasting sting.

This is a very girly paddle as it is a pale pink color, and adorned with hearts. Therefore, this product is mainly aimed at a female audience, but if your partner happens to like the design of it, or they don't mind wielding a feminine looking toy, than I would say that this paddle could make any person willing to possess it a happy owner.

It has a beautiful baby pink curved body with edges adorned with a single line of stitching, a handle embossed with metal studs, and three raised hearts that lay vertically across the top of it's frame. When I drew the paddle out of the package I could faintly smell the scent of new leather. The leather is stiff, and I would assume it will soften with time as most leather does. I was very impressed with the quality of this toy, especially since the price was so low. I believe that this paddle was made very well, and that it will last through many smacking sessions. The hubby and I have used it three or four times now, ranging from gentler play to a pretty rough session, and this little baby has held up very well. So far the leather shows no signs of wear, and the paddle itself looks the same way it did when we took it out of the package.

The width of the paddle is three inches, while the length is about 12 and a half inches. I personally felt that the paddle was the perfect size, as it was slightly longer than a ruler and the handle fit perfectly in my hand. The size was nice as it was easy to get a good grip on it and wield it to it's full potential.

The studs on the handle make the paddle easier to grip, especially if your hand gets a little sweaty. Although the picture may make it seem like the studs would come into play during paddle use, they are situated far enough down the paddle that they don't really come into contact with your partners flesh unless you are intentionally trying to acheive contact.

The description of the paddle boasts that the hearts "aren’t just for show, but are perfect for leaving a lasting mark on your partner or lover, but my boyfriend and I have yet to experience this result much to my sadness since I was kind of looking forward to leaving my mark on the him.

The strap is a nice feature, as it keeps the paddle on your wrist if you get caught up in what you are doing. On the other hand, if you choose not to use the strap it can be quite annoying as it tends to slap against your wrist while you swing.

When I first got this toy I took it out of the package and playfully smacked my boyfriend on the butt with it. Needless to say, a little smack goes a long way with this paddle, as he was not expecting it or the sensation it left behind. When it was my turn to be paddled I realized just how little force was needed to supply a pleasurable tap.

I have to admit I was impressed by the "bite" that this little paddle possessed, for such a little innocent looking thing it definitely makes you aware of it's presence. A light slap leaves an enjoyable tingling sensation behind, while a harder smack creates a stinging sensation. I did not expect this little toy to be able to cause actual pain, but if you whack hard enough I wouldn't be surprised if it brought tears.

When you receive this product I would suggest testing it out on yourself before you use it on your partner, as it can be unintentionally more painful than you wish it to be. If you test it out on yourself you should be able to gauge how much force you want to put into your swings, and therefore the overall experience will be more pleasurable for you and your partner.

I haven't had to clean this toy yet, but I would assume soap and water would work nicely on this product. As the paddle is made of leather I would also think that it would be beneficial to use a special leather cleaning product. The paddle's loop makes it easily hangable if desired. The paddle is small enough that it shouldn't be too difficult to store.

This paddle comes in a clear plastic box, which can be re-closed if the owner wants to temporarily or permanently keep their paddle in it. Until we find a more suitable place to store our paddle, we have kept ours in the plastic package it came in. The package had no visible instructions on it, and only stated the name of the paddle and the company that made it.

Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the sound the paddle made on contact: a light thumping sound that reminded me of smacking a paperback book down on a desk. That's not the greatest description for the way it sounds, but it's the best comparison I can come up with the moment.
