The Spider Paddle Entrap-Her can easily become a serious instrument of punishment. The smooth side feels like leather, while the embroidered side feels like plastic or vinyl. Although this is not immediately apparent from the picture, the paddle is rather long and wide, covering a very large territory in one blow. It is also rather thick, heavy, and only slightly flexible. A medium-strength stroke produces a combination of thud and sting, leaving an impressive, lingering burn with the muscle ache spreading underneath. I found the most distinct feature of this paddle is its spider web-shaped edges, which deliver rather sharp, snappy bites in several places at once outside of the main target area, and may produce welts with the soreness lasting into the next day.

The textured embroidered pattern on one of the surfaces adds an additional abrasive effect when the paddle lands and is pulled away. It is actually fun to try to make your bottom guess which side has just been applied. All in all, I found each stoke surprisingly, even shockingly harsh, and you do not need very many before you cannot take any more. While this toy has a potential of being severe, it can also be used with mild to moderate strength, producing glowing warmth and a pleasant tingle all over the bottom; which can be used as either a part of a warm-up session or for a more gentle play.

You can also turn this paddle around and spank your submissive with the handle. While my husband found this is not the most comfortable way to hold it, I deeply enjoyed the firmness and thud of the spanks; the solid core inside the handle makes it extra-heavy and extra-precise.

Finally, you can tantalize your bottom by running the spiky edges over the more sensitive parts, or, if you played hard, you can use them to trace the welts, which I found appealingly agonizing.

All in all, I would say this paddle is a worthwhile investment if you are into a more intense form of play; perhaps on that special Halloween night when you are up for some kinky trick-or-treat.
