Medium rubber whip - flogging toy by Sportsheets - review by Lucidity

This whip was a gift to me, many years ago and one of the more useful things I received for my 18th birthday. It came in just a gift bag from my friend and I was ecstatic. I had been eying these rubber whips for months, ever since I came upon them in my local adult toy shop. I loved they way the felt on my skin, and couldn't wait to try it out! I only noticed a very slight rubber smell, and nothing that would deter me. The smell is something that has faded with use and washes, but still faintly remains if I sniff the strands directly.

The strands of this whip are made from 9.5" long, thin bits of rubber. I would compare its texture to that of a Koosh ball (anyone else remember those?), and it is capable of creating much different sensations than leather or chain whips. The rubber whip is non-threatening and comes in a variety of sizes and colors, it's easy to wield and it is inexpensive. I have used it to introduced at least two partners to flogging, who were hesitant at first. The handle on mine is 3.5", consisting of a hard, black plastic ball at the top and bottom of a black plastic tube-- though it looks like they've since changed the design so that the tube is now clear. Either way, it is an easy and comfortable handle to hold, and I've never had any issues with it slipping out of my, or a partners hand.

There is a lot to love about this whip. For one, it can also be used as a tickler, and it feels sensational being lightly dragged across the skin, before a rigorous flogging. This is also far less intimidating than, say, a leather riding crop, and one reason it's great for beginners, is it's nearly impossible to inflict too much pain (which is wonderful for those worried about hurting their partner). With a crop or a cane, one can easily leave welts on the skin of a partner, but with a rubber whip, no matter how hard you flog, you're not going to break the skin. Don't get me wrong, it stings, and will leave superb rose colored streaks in it's wake, but there's little danger of welts or scares or bruising...though that can be a good or bad thing depending on your experience level.

I have only used this whip with blood-bonded individuals, as you can not completely sanitize rubber. I've always washed it with anti-bacterial soap and warm water, making sure it's completely air dry before putting it away, though toy cleaner would also be compatible. It has held up extremely well through the years of plenty of light and heavy sessions, a few strands have broken but nothing that makes it less useful. I keep it in my nightstand drawer, so it can get tangled, but the strands are easy enough to untangle and I've never had any serious issues.
