I have previously been uncomfortable with bondage. The metal handcuffs pinched, you could slip out of them, there was clanging when they touched, and a variety of other complaints that many users can relate to. The Supercuffs by Sportsheets were absolutely none of these things. Soft and comfortable, yet strong and firm. These cuffs work great and add some extra fun for those looking to explore a little. I would classify us as beginners (even though we experimented with some metal handcuffs prior to these), and found them very functional and easy to use. I also don't see any reason why they wouldn't be good for more experienced couples as well.

Made of neoprene and Velcro, I wasn't sure just how strong they would be. As I have said, they can be used for beginners or more experienced couples. For an experienced couple, it gives a firm, strong hold for which they are intended. But, if you have never experimented with bondage and become uncomfortable, the wearer can grasp and undo the Velcro to free your own hands. It's not exactly a delicate process, but it is doable. So there are pluses for both levels of experience. The neoprene gives a nice comfortable cushion, while the Velcro strips go all the way around for extra support and plenty of strength. The Velcro going all the way around means that the cuffs can literally fit any size adult wrist. It does have the potential to be use on ankles as well, however they make a bigger size that would be better suited. The cuffs are connected together by the Velcro going through metal rings. This was mildly confusing at first because there is a definite order of events in securing the cuffs, but I picked it up quickly and it's no longer a problem.

While neoprene does have a distinct smell, you really have to be looking for it and get up close to tell. And honestly I almost enjoy the smell, but I'm weird like that. One issue with the design is the corners of the Velcro; they can be fairly sharp and annoying to both parties. Given a pair of scissors and some rounding of the corners this problem was easily solved.

Quite honestly, the Supercuffs exceeded our expectations of providing a level of comfort that allows you to focus more on the excitement. They seem to be able to stand up to repeated use and have the potential to be used as ankle cuffs as well, which also made this a good investment for us. We leave the cuffs attached to themselves and tie a rope around the middle then to the bedpost. This makes setup easier and faster since all you have to do is slide your wrists in and have your partner secure them. I think one of my favorite things about them is that there isn't any jingling! The rattling of the metal handcuffs we used prior to this was almost annoying and it definitely feels like an upgrade to us.

Since the Sportcuffs are made of neoprene and Velcro, there isn't any difficult cleanup. A wet washcloth works just fine for ours, and if you keep the Velcro closed you don't pick up lint in storage. If you were really worried about lint you could store them in a drawer or box. When closed they are less than 6 inches wide each, and can can even fit inside each other if you tighten one of them. Ours tends to just hang by the bed waiting to be used.

The package is fairly plain, a clear plastic container with a piece of paper on the front showing the cuffs on a couple. A lifetime warranty seal is also on the front next to the Sportsheets logo. The paper on the back gives vague instructions on how to use the cuffs, but we still had to spend a few minutes figuring out just how they work. We have kept the package with the intent of using it as storage, as it does reseal. However our cuffs haven't left the bed yet.
