The Price Is Right

I am giving this flogger a 5 star review with the caveat that the price vs. craftsmanship is a major factor in my enjoyment of this. It is not of a very high quality, and won't last forever, but for such a reasonable price I'm ok with this. This is a great way to try out a flogger for very little investment, or even just have a kinky accessory to play with. This toy will definitely work for me until I'm ready to move on to more expensive floggers.

I'm not exactly a beginner to impact play; I've used paddles, crops, and straps before, but I've never tried out flogging, partially because a flogger always seemed like a big investment with a decent amount of maintenance. Leather floggers can be expensive and should be hung and might need their falls treated with a leather polish on occasion to keep them from becoming brittle. I wanted something cheap to try out that could be stuffed in my toy box without worry, while still having something that could pack a punch since I'm not new to impact toys. I was surprised to find exactly what I wanted for such an inexpensive price.

The flogger itself is very lightweight to hold and the falls on this are narrow and light. This means you can expect a sting, but not much of a thud or "thump" when using this to flog. I was able to get some reddened skin with repeated flogging, but that is probably the extent of what you can inflict with this flogger. There is a satisfying thwack sound when you strike with this tool, something that needs to be considered if you need a quiet toy for discretion purposes. The handle is 6" in length, so I was able to hold this comfortably in my hand. There isn't really any weight to the handle, so the balanced weight distribution of a quality flogger just isn't here. I wasn't looking for anything more than an introductory stinging flogger, so I was completely satisfied by the impact this toy provided. I think for more experienced users this can work as a decent warm-up piece or a toy for occasions or body locations where you want to stay light. If you only want a heavier flogger that can thud and leave bruises or welts, this isn't going to be for you.

The quality of this flogger is just alright, and I don't see it lasting forever with regular heavy use. However, I think it will last me until I'm ready to move up to a real leather flogger. Vinyl can rip or tear, and the entire thing just feels lightweight and not entirely sturdy. The handle has exposed wood at the base and top where the vinyl is wrapped around it, and the flogger I received already had a very small chip in this wood. I put this on the top of my toy box so nothing heavy can sit on the falls and cause them to crease. Despite all this, I find the quality of the toy to be completely acceptable for the very low price of the product.

There isn't any packaging to this flogger, just a tag attached to the strap on the handle with the Sex and Mischief logo, website, and a short little erotic story. The only smell was a faint vinyl smell when brought close to my face. To clean this, I would wipe it down with a damp cloth and mild antibacterial soap. At the base and top of the flogger handle there is exposed wood, and I would be careful not to get this wood damp when cleaning it. Otherwise, vinyl doesn't have any special care or maintenance needs; just try not to crush it when storing to avoid creases.
