There's no love rope involved!

Overall, I thought this was a decent beginner kit. The whip can be used for warmup for heavier play, and also can be used for sensation play, like most whips, to drag across the skin. The ball gag and mask serve their purpose well. I do recommend this for anyone that is interested in sensation play or beginner BDSM. Experienced users may not be interested because the whip doesn't cause any bite, and the blindfold isn't a sensual or expensive material.

Use

This kit comes with a silky-ended rope whip, a ball gag, and a blindfold/mask. There are no tying ropes. I was misled by this so I'm stating it so that you won't be. This is advertised as a light bdsm kit. It is somewhat effective, but the rope whip absolutely will not cause pain. I have hit my absolute hardest, with as much strength as possible behind it, and it did not faze my sub. He even responded when I asked "anything? even a sting?" "no Mistress.."

The ball gag, however, does work, though the roping can become uncomfortable if left on for a long time.

The mask is claimed to be a patent faux leather, but it's basically vinyl.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

Let's talk about these in sections.

The blindfold is made of vinyl and has an elastic strap. It will fit most people, it does completely block vision. I've put it on for giggles, and so has my sub. It blocked visual for both of us. So it does fit well. It's just cheaply made, so it probably won't last long. This could just be me. It will probably not be comfortable long term. I would say because the straps are a thin elastic that it won't be extremely comfortable for more than an hour or two. There are two straps to it, both are elastic. The straps are 11" long unstretched, but keep in mind these are VERY stretchy and should fit anyone. It is however, comfortable. We used it for about an hour. It doesn't press extremely firmly against the eyes, but it does sit softly on them.

The ball gag is made of a rubber, and is clear. It has a thin rope like strap that runs double. It is partially difficult to adjust, but does have an adjustable strapping. There's a plastic snap that closes it and holds it in place, which creates a quick release if there are any problems. The rubber on the ball will collect lint because of the texture. I suggest storing it in a plastic baggy. The strap is 26" long total, including clips. The actual length of the double roping that is adjustable is 22" long.

The whip is made of a silky rope and is 13" long including handle, and about 10" long of just the whip, the ends are unraveled to create a soft silky feel. It has a key-chain like attachment that clips with an o-ring attached to it. I'm not sure what the purpose of that is unless it is just to hang it up. The tail does not tangle, and has 6 sections to the rope.

Performance

The whip really doesn't cause a sting no matter how hard you hit with it. It basically allows for a thud. The blindfold is effective, though slightly uncomfortable after a while. The ball gag works well, my only complaint is that it does have to be stored in something such as a plastic baggy to keep it from collecting lint as the rubber has that slightly sticky rubber feel to it.

The whip will be great for warm up or beginners. I didn't personally like it because I prefer a whip that gives a sting with just a flick from the wrist. However, my sub can handle quite a bit of pain. It is fairly wide because of the way it is designed with the unraveling. It is still relatively easy to aim, but you're not going to be able to snap a small spot like you would with a smaller rubber whip. I took the O-ring off of it because I used it for something else, but if you want to leave it on there it won't get in your way or anything. The whip itself is easy to handle and aim, and it has a comfortable grip to it. I would still be safe with this around areas such as the back near the kidneys, because even with a whip like this, if you hit hard you can always risk damage. This whip, as I before stated, doesn't do much other than thud. That is why it would be useful for warm up. It just isn't my cup of tea.

The blindfold has light that comes in through the bottom, but only slightly. You cannot see anything. The material is covered by a vinyl in the front that doesn't allow any light or allow for the person to see through. The part that covers the face does not have the same vinyl material. It's more of a nylon feel. It also will not cause sweating or heating up too badly unless your man/woman is prone to sweating. My sub had no issues at all with this and said it was pretty comfortable. But as I said, we didn't use it for more than an hour.

The gag has no taste, and has a slight rubber odor. Once fitted correctly it gagged perfectly. My sub was only able to make noises. He is quite experienced with gags so it didn't bother him, though I personally felt like it was a little large when I tried it on myself, and I have no experience in gags, I didn't leave it in because it bothered me. As I said, my sub has experience with it and was fine. It stayed in for about an hour and a half. He had no jaw soreness or anything. The ropes are fairly comfortable, just make sure you don't adjust them ridiculously tight. I personally set the gag over his ears, rather than down below his neck like some people.

As a whole, I don't generally use blindfolds. That's a personal preference, so I personally won't be using the blindfold much if at all. But as I said, it's not a failure on the part of the kit, just that I don't like blindfolds. They do have their purpose though, so I'm sure others will find a use. The ballgag will see much use, and the whip may see some use for warmup, but it will not be in much of my play. I'm a more serious domme with a serious painslut sub. He can take more than I can dish, even. I do still recommend this to beginners though because it's great for warmup and sensation play.

Care and Maintenance

As always, with anything that touches body fluid you will want to wash it with soap and water. The ball gag should be washed after each use, and due to the lint collection on it, I wash it before use as well. The whip hasn't tangled with anything in my bag yet, but I would store it separately just in case, I always store anything with tails in a baggy by itself. The blindfold can be wiped off if anything gets on the front because it's vinyl.

Packaging

The packaging is ridiculous, not going to lie. There is an anime chick on the front with her clothes hiked up to show her panties and she's quite obviously trying to touch herself. I'm assuming the love rope references the whip. There is no actual roping included. Obviously, this is completely not discreet.

Experience

I didn't try the whip out much, I lost interest after putting my entire strength into whipping my sub and he was like "still nothing". I thought the blindfold and ballgag were quite effective and enjoyed using them. Again, my only complaint was the material for the ballgag is a slightly sticky rubber that allows for lint collection and other stuff. Otherwise it worked well, I just wash before and after use.

I'm answering some curiosity expressed here- The reason that I didn't personally like the whip, or rather, why it didn't fit my expectations is because I like whips that give a lot of sting, with only a little wrist flick. Most of my whips are higher quality rubber or leather that you can't hit with all your strength because you'd hurt someone. The threat is there, that you could get a serious welt, but the sub always wonder whether or not I'll give it. That's why I like the suspense of it. This whip in this kit just can't do anything even with its hardest hit. I continued to hear "No ma'am" to "does it sting/hurt yet?"
Follow-up commentary
The rope on this has unraveled quite a bit, the mask is cheap and the straps have broken, and all that's left is the gag. I still like the gag sort of.. but it's just a lint collector because of the rubber. I also have decided I don't like the way it straps on to the mouth, so I've gone with a total "ew" on this set.
