Beaded nipple clamps by Spartacus - review by Dame Saphir

Spartacus really hit the jackpot with these little clamps! They adjust within a wide range making them very useful for people who have larger nipples or smaller ones. Also, because of the adjustability, these clamps would be great for any degree of play, whether more "vanilla" or for more hardcore/BDSM users. What I liked most about these little buggers is that they freed up hands (whether your partner's or your own), leaving hands to pay attention to other parts, making these fantastic for either couple or solo play.

The body of the clamps is made of metal, the tips made of rubber. There is a string of five plastic beads on the end of the product. All of the material is non-porous and phthalates-free/latex-free. There was absolutely no smell to the clamps, even upon their first opening. Both the metal and the rubber are very smooth, the rubber tips providing a good clamp, without discomfort caused solely by the material. The rubber ends are removable (be careful not to lose them!) and wearing the clamps with just the metal itself makes it a little less comfortable as the metal ends are shaped to a square and have corners that are a little scratchy.

The clamps, I admit were a bit larger than I had expected when I first opened the package, but they are (as I later found out) fantastic! The entire length is four inches, three inches of this being the body of the clamps, and one inch being the series of five beads that hang from the end. These clamps work like this: The main body is a tweezer. At the bottom (joining) point of the tweezers sits a metal ring that slides up and down the body to tighten or loosen the clamp. That's it! While it did take my boy a hot minute to get these things on, it didn't bother me -too- much since his struggles to get them clamped was still touching and stimulating to my nipples. Once they were on, they were VERY noticeable. Any sort of movement jarred the beads that hang off (where a lot of the weight is) and I was given a whole shock of sensation.

As far as performance goes, these clamps were marvelous. Once my boy was able to get them on, they didn't come off. Even with some fairly extended play, they stayed put until we were ready to take them off. Speaking of taking them off: as with any clamp, when removed, there can be more pain than when they were on because the blood rushes back to that place in your body. When we took these off, it was no different. This was the second time in the whole experience that had me saying "ouch."

The first was during play. While the clamps were on, they delivered the perfect balance between pain and pleasure, sending sensations to my nipples with every bit of movement. It was when my boy decided to join in again that I had a little too much pain. I don't know if he simply forgot they were there, or was just going with the flow, but when he reached up and started grabbing, the two together was just too much and had me vocalizing for him to stop. My suggestion is that, unless you like a -great deal- of pain, let these babies do their job, and leave hands to roam elsewhere. That's what these things are for anyway, right? To free up your hands for more fun!

The clamps are completely adjustable, and while I enjoy a great deal of pinching, after the first time we used them, I had to ask my boy to, next time, slide them -just a little- below the tightest they go.

I would suggest storing these either in their package, or in a small pouch. While they were bigger than I expected, they're still small and the rubber ends can get lost very easily if you remove them. Also, the beads on the end are on a metal wire than can get bent during storage (or play, for that matter).

Cleaning is no big deal. They're mostly metal, so wash them with an anti-bacterial soap and water, and dry them. Make sure to do both, however with the rubber ends off, just to make sure no water gets trapped underneath them and so there's no chance of any rusting.

Spartacus packaged these up in a fairly tasteful and simple clear packaging with a cardstock insert onto which the clamps are attached. There is a simple design and a picture from the waist up, of a blond woman with her hand covering her nipple. The package was no problem to open, and had a basic overview of the product, as well as a very brief history of Spartacus written on the back of the insert.

I asked my boy after we used the clamps a few times if they were aesthetically pleasing for him at all. His response was "I mean. They're pretty. But for the most part they were just there. They were pleasing to me because they were pleasing you."
