Ostrich feather - tickler discontinued by Sportsheets - review by removedacnt

There are times when I love to just have a romantic night filled with light caresses, soft strokes and gentle love making. One thing I always wanted to add to a night like this was a beautiful feather. I know that sounds like that would be fairly easy to find, but it turned out to be more difficult that I would have thought. I wanted a feather tickler that was beautiful, soft, well made and a bit longer than the little hand-held fluffy types. After a couple of failed purchases I found the Ostrich feather tickler by Sportsheets.

This tickler is just down right gorgeous. It comes in 6 different colors. The one I chose is a wonderfully rich colored teal. I'm not sure how they get it that color but it even has a shimmery iridescence to it. And the color is consistent and rich throughout the feathers. There are 2 long luxurious feathers, one stacked on top of the other. They measure 12 inches long and about 4 to 5 inches across the widest point. The handle is 15 inches long and is made of plastic, and has a rubber grip on the bottom for holding onto, and a smaller rubber grip on the top to help keep the feathers in place. The feathers are well secured into the handle and should last for a very long time. There is a slight curve to the feathers that makes it very easy to brush across a body. There are also no places on these feathers that could accidentally ruin the experience by poking or scratching someone.

The only thing I would possible change is for there to be something on the end of the handle to hang it up safely when not in use. But since there isn't, I store it away by laying it across the top shelf of our closet.

I really love this tickler. It felt amazing when my husband stroked it across my entire body. This is definitely one of my favorite little toys for those softer nights. It can also be fun to use in combination with a flogger. Kind of a little "slap and tickle" play. Either way, this tickler would be a wonderful addition to any toy collection. It is so well made and reasonably priced. Not to mention all the gorgeous colors to choose from.

I still love this feather! We've had it for a couple of months and it has held up well. But, I'm careful that we don't use this when we're also using lubes or oils, etc. I love it and want it to last us as long as possible.

I did chat with Sportsheets about whether it can be cleaned, and they said that it probably would not hold up well to a washing. So keep that in mind. When you use it, you probably want to be careful not to get anything on it.
