Vanilla bondage kit review

This was just a new experience for us and I felt uneasy at first.
I was interested in trying out some light bondage but wasn’t sure where to begin. I also wasn’t sure how the hubby would feel about it so I went exploring on the website to see what was available. When I came to the Vanilla Bondage Kit, I thought it would be a good choice to start out with. You’d think at our age, we would know something about this topic but both hubby and I were VERY native about the subject.
I didn’t even tell hubby that I had ordered the kit and decided to just wait until it came and see how he reacted. Well, when it arrived, I was pleased with the selection. The container it came in was so cute- it looked like an ice cream container. The packaging alone helped take a little of the edge off the apprehension. I took the items out of the container and felt the smooth softness of each piece. The blindfold was so soft that I thought I could sleep in it. The ties were smooth and long enough to reach most places. We were slower to try out this product than most we have ordered but when we did use it, it was fun. I was the first one to be tied up. I have this thing about not being able to be in control and it was really nervous about this. Hubby was gentle and kind, placing the blindfold on me and assuring me I would enjoy what he had in store. He took each tie and put them on my arms, stretching me arms to the sides and securing them to the bed. It wasn’t uncomfortable, just different. He proceeded to tease and play with me until I was squirming and wiggling on the bed. Having worked in a psychiatric hospital and having applied restraints to others, I figured out how to get out of the ties. I guess if he had secured them a little better, I wouldn’t have been able to get loose but I thought it was funny that I “escaped”. He wasn’t overly pleased with my great escape. Since I was loose, we flipped roles and I got to tie him up. With the blindfold in place, I also secured his arms; only I did his a little tighter than he did mine. I teased and played with him for a while then he asked to be let up. I did so because I wanted him to be willing to try this again.
The blindfold was solid, I couldn’t see anything from it and it fit tight enough to prevent peeking. The ties were soft and didn’t hurt when applied. While this was a new experience, and not something we use very much, I enjoy having it as part of our collection. I hope we use it more and more as time goes by. I think for beginners, it is a great kit to have.

Because hubby and I are both personality type A, and have to always be in control, we have not used this too much. I have used the blindfold on several occasions, but the restraints pretty much stay in the drawer. We've just not been able to get past that "being in control" thing! Hopefully, we will keep trying. I still think it is a good kit for beginners.

It sounds like you have a solid, playful, and experimental marriage. Hopefully you'll get more use out of this kit in the future! You can always try pairing it with other products to really stimulate the other's senses, or on the flip side, try using just the blindfold until you get somewhat used to the sensations of being restrained. Actually, we have used the blindfold several times alone and I really enjoy that! Hubby has to be more in control and doesn't like not knowing what's going on-(his job requires it). We'll keep plugging away at using it and other things! Thanks for the comment!
If you like the blindfold, maybe you'll like light sensation play; hot/cold, feathers, a furry flogger, etc. Let us know as you continue to experiment :)

Nice review of a beginner's item. If you do end up wanting to use the restraints more, basic knot-tying guides come in handy.

This looks like a cute kit and my husband and I do like to play this type of game but we have never purchased anything to use. Unfortunately, he gets out of the "imaginary" restraints every time. Bad boy...
I put this in my wish list. It seems like it would be fun to use something with a silky material sometime. And for the price, you can't beat it! But I'll be purchasing some more "hard core" leather bondage cuffs too.
Just to clarify.. it isn't actually scented vanilla, is it?
spicywife- yes it is vanilla scented..not a strong scent but you can smell a vanilla aroma.. Have fun with it!!
