Walk on the Wild Side.

This set is great for beginners looking for their first bondage kit, or couples who want something discreet for travel. If you're looking for heavy restraint, keep looking. The restraints and blindfold are very comfortable, but the nylon tethers can slip if you don't tie them tight enough, and the blindfold allows for a bit of peeking. The low price is a pretty fair deal. If you're curious about bondage, and are looking to get your feet wet, this set may work out well for you.

Use

Our First Bondage kit is a wonderful set for beginners, and those looking to experiment with kinkier pleasures. It is also great for pros who are looking for a highly portable kit. It contains four restraints (two for wrists, two for ankles), and a blindfold. The restraints are attached to 44" nylon teathers which you can use to tie your lover down to the bed, to a chair, or anywhere else you see fit! The straps can also be tied together to create cuffs.

These restraints are made of a velvety material, and are secured with strong velcro, for a firm grasp and quick release. The blindfold is also made of the same velvety material and a thick, elastic strap which will not catch hair. It is very comfortable, but does not create a complete black-out experience, as you can see a bit under the lower piece, but it is still effective in blocking out most vision.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The blindfold is 11" across when the band is not stretched. It fits comfortably without being too tight, and should accommodate most heads well. The pieces that fit over the eyes are a bit longer than most blindfolds, but it helps to obscure most vision.

The restraints are all the same size, but adjust to fit comfortably around small to large female frames, and small to medium male frames, which makes the velcro an advantage over buckle restraints. Each cuff is 10 1/2" long.

The cuffs and blindfold are made of a velvety material which remains comfortable even when pulled on, or given tension. The straps are made of a soft, yet sturdy nylon. When tying them together, or to another surface, make sure to give it a couple of knots to prevent the knots from slipping.

At first glance, the set looks like it is high quality and would run you a pretty penny. Upon closer examination, a few raw edges (like where the elastic is attached to the blindfold) were visible. It isn't noticeable when wearing. There are also a couple of places where the stitching was a bit uneven, but it doesn't take away from the design. The velcro may wear out over time, but with the low cost of the set, it could easily be replaced.

Performance

This set is great for beginners because it is simple, easy, and comfortable. I was impressed with how comfortable the cuffs were on my wrists and ankles, even when a lot of tension was given to the straps. They didn't leave behind any marks, which other restraints have on me in the past.

I think that these cuffs could benefit from a D-ring on each one. This would make it a lot easier to tie them together. When I decided to do a hog-tie with them, I had a huge mass of knots and tether ends everywhere. It is also difficult to make a knot close enough to the cuff to be able to link them together like traditional cuffs. Also, when making your knots, make sure to knot it twice, because the nylon has a tendency to slip if your knot isn't tight enough. These aren't the greatest for tying to each other, but would work best when tying someone down to something.

The blindfold still allows for someone to see out of the bottom of it, if their eyes are open. It does help to encourage the submissive partner to close their eyes, however.

Follow-up commentary
At first, I wasn't sure about this kit. It didn't seem to be something that fit with my idea of bondage. I hated how the cuffs couldn't be linked together.

However, after some time, my boyfriend and I do use this kit a bit more often than we anticipated. The blindfold has gone missing, but it's not a big deal. Neither one of us really liked it anyway.
