Well that was disapointingly flimsy.

It fell apart on its first use and it was completely ineffective when used as an actual crop instead of just as a tickle/teaser toy. It was very disappointing and I can get a real horse crop for about the same price.

Use

This toy was supposed to be used in a spanking context. However the first time I played with it, the actual leather head of the crop broke off. This toy is better suited for light play, very light play, so light you may as well use a feather to play. I'm a little bitter that it broke. On the third strike. If you're going to buy this toy for any reason get it as a prop for a cosplay outfit, or for a photo shoot since it looks nice, even if it packs no punch.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

This toy was not well made. It broke the first time I used it and I wasn't even using it for very long before the head broke off. I am very disappointed. It looked stunning but it was about as sturdy as a snowball in hell. It also had no heft to it, the smacks were incredibly light and left my partner decidedly underwhelmed. If I were spending this much on a crop I'd want it to last, I could go to a horse supply store and, for a similar price, get a crop that not only gives more of a sting but is more durable. I think that's what I'm doing next time and that's what I suggest someone who is considering this toy for its intended purpose take into consideration.

Performance

This toy performed very very poorly. I was excited about getting my first ever crop and couldn't wait to gleefully use it on my poor unsuspecting partner. Well, either my partner has buns of steel (not ruling it out) or the leather on this crop is pathetic. After the head broke off I ultimately decided to deconstruct it and use shaft as a sturdy plastic cane.

Care and Maintenance

Honestly I never got a chance to figure out how to care for or maintain this toy as it broke too soon. However I can't imagine that it would be hard to care for if it had survived. The only issue I see in care is that it's long and not collapsible thus making storage a bit of an issue if discretion is key.

Personal comments

Don't buy this toy, don't bother. I could have just gotten a poor one, but looking at the leather I doubt it. Also this toy delivered no sting what so ever to my partner, and my partner is very, very sensitive to pain. He said it tickled before it broke. It left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.

Experience

I'd intended to use this toy on more than one person in order to give a more complete review. However it had other plans. Plans that involved falling apart when used as an actual crop and not a teaser. I'm sorry but if I've got a crop then, drat it, I'm using it as a crop. I'm not just going to tickle my partner with it. If that's what I'd wanted I would have used a feather.

I troll farm and home stores for riding crops. They work like a charm and are extremely durable.

Sorry this didn't work out for you. Definitely go to a saddlery/tack shop for crops. You can get everything from the little stumpy pony bats to the longer jockey crops, as well as dressage and lunge whips.

I'll third the riding crop suggestion. Depending on the size of the popper, you can get a variety of sensations, plus they can be loud, which I think in this case is a good thing.

Perhaps you got a defective one? There's a couple reviews by people who used it for a while and didn't have a problem. Have you tried returning it for a different one?

I was also going to suggest going to a real farm store. I scored a leather riding crop on sale for $9, and those last a life time.

What a shame that it wasn't durable.

Thanks for the review, even if I am disappointed to hear it is flimsy. I think this is the only riding crop that's in stock on Eden right now
