Star impressions paddle by Sportsheets - review by Badass

As stated in it's product name, the Star Impressions Paddle is intended to be used as an impression paddle. This paddle has 3 stars cut out of the leather on one side so that after spanking your partner with this side, skin toned stars should be left behind on their bright red rump. While I personally was unable to achieve blatant stars, I did notice vague paler spots on their skin.

This toy makes a snap when it hits skin, rather than a thump. The pain can be described as that of stinging as opposed to creating a thud or blatant pain. While it can easily create a red welt, they fade quickly and would not leave behind a bruise.

I don't see this being a long term paddle if used too roughly. The paddle is simply composed of two pieces of leather, stitched together with string. Hence, I see this being a more soft core paddle. If you are looking for something with a bit of sting this is for you. But, if you want something for heavy play, you may want to look elsewhere.

This toy is ideally for couples or partner play. I don't imagine it would be very fun to spank yourself.

This paddle is made of leather and is very lightweight and compact. It weighs in at 3 ounces and is only 12" long from top to bottom. The portion you use to spank your partner with is 2 1/4" wide and the handle is 1 1/4" at it's smallest point. The paddle is 1/4" thick and is composed of two 1/8" pieces of leather that were stitched together. The paddle portion is not stitched together for optimal spanking power.


The front side of this toy has 3 star shaped holes that reveal a pink piece of paper behind it. Behind this pink piece of paper is the other leather half of the paddle. On the handle, Sportsheets is engraved in the leather. At the bottom, there is a hole with a metal guard that is labeled Sportsheets that can also seen on this side. This hole has a string that resembles a shoe lace going through it. On this side you can see the seam of sting that is holding the front and back pieces together.




The rear of this paddle is much more plain than the front. The back side is totally black, aside from the silver ring at the bottle that is not labeled on this side. The stitching that keeps the two halves connected is again visible here. On the handle, Sportsheets is engraved in the leather on this side as well.

While I loved this toy as a paddle and thought it worked excellently to make my partners bum bright red, I never left behind any stars. My partner allowed me to pretty much beat the heck out of him to see if I could actually make stars with the paddle to no avail. Occasionally, there would be a splotch of white in the red "welts", but I could never make out the image of a star.

As a paddle, this is a great buy. It is compact and easy to hold in one hand and does leave behind a bold red on your lover's flesh. It is an awesome buy for a beginner who has yet to discover how into pain they might or might not be. This is an awesome introductory paddle for those just expanding their minds to the pleasures of pain. As an impressions paddle, I think this one was a dud. It does leave a little pale spot behind, but not a defined star.

Since the majority of the paddle made of leather, it it fairly easy to keep clean. If dust, dirt, or something kinky happens to get onto your new paddle, simply wipe it down with a damp rag. I do not recommend ever submerging this toy or allowing it to soak in water. The pink in between the two leather halves is just a piece of paper and soaking it in water could run the pink background for the stars. I also feel it would be a bad idea for the leather's sake.

As for storage, you're good for just about anywhere. I have been storing mine inside one of my toy boxes. I try to keep it away from jelly toys since this summer has been so hot. I don't think any of my jelly toys are going to melt, but if they should, I certainly don't want them melting all over my new paddle.

This paddle does not have any packaging at all. No box and doesn't even come in a plastic bag. When it arrives at your house, it is free roaming inside the USPS box. The paddle does have a small tag attached to the hanging cord. The front of the simple 3 1/2" by 2" tag informs you that this is an "Impressions Paddle" from Sportsheets. The back of the tag contains some general information about Sportsheets, including their contact info. This back portion also tells you that this is a 12" Impression Paddle and that this paddle was made in the USA.

The tag is paper and can be placed out with the rest of your recyclables.

This was another first for me, my first paddle. I am finding out that I am not very good at imagining size specifics, because I definitely thought this would be bigger. After having a chance to use it though, I am glad it is not bigger. If it were much bigger, I think I would have a harder time using it as harshly as I would like. While I could not get the desired result of leaving stars behind, I still enjoyed the control. I found one flaw with this paddle, but it could have been a one time flaw. Mine had some frayed stitching in the front, right under the stars. This does not hinder my ability to paddle, but it does make the paddle look less appealing, in my opinion.


I mean, I'm not complaining or anything like that. The paddle still functions fully. It just makes the paddle less appealing to look at in my opinion.
