If your partner (or yourself) tends to be chatty at the wrong times, this is the perfect solution. This toy is effective at muffling, but not completely silencing the wearer; some sounds can come out, but definitely not speech.

This gag is made of leather, metal and rubber. Let's look at each part separately:

Leather: A bit on the thin side, but that makes it comfortable. Even though it's thin, it seems strong enough for all but the most demanding user. It's very flexible because of the thinness, but that also makes it easy to store. The leather is attached at each loop point with 2 metal smooth metal rivets; since they are smooth they will not cause any irritation to the wearer.

The buckle itself is well made, the additional loop of metal to hold the excess strap not so much. The loops holding the leather sections together are sturdy and unyielding.

The rubber ball is 2" in diameter. This might be on the large side for those with a smaller mouth; for us it worked just right - full, but not so wide it causes jaw ache. Being rubber, I was afraid of a nasty taste and/or smell, but I was pleasantly surprised - it had neither. I had to check again that it wasn't silicone. The ball texture is non-porous, firm but with a little give. The ball has no seams or other defects to detract from the experience.

As for the size, let me say that I am a big guy - 6'4" and 250, with an 18" neck. I can use this on the very last hole in the leather. Thankfully, it's quite a ways from the end of the strap, so there are no worries about it ripping out.

This gag works well; the wearer can get some sounds out around it, but definitely not any speech. The metal loops on the left and right sides of the ball have a tendency to dig in a little, but nothing major. The 2" ball gives a nice "full mouth" feeling; it's firm, but not hard.

This toy should last quite a while, as long as the thin leather holds up.

No part of this gag disassembles, so cleaning the ball is an issue. Since you can't take the ball off, the only way to clean it is to carefully wash the ball with soap and water while trying to not get the leather wet. Easier said than done.

We really liked the purple color - it's not as intimidating as the bright red, and might be the right choice for someone on the fence about using a ball gag rather than the traditional red/black look.
