Pleasure tape - restraints discontinued by Pipedream - review by fragglerocker

Pleasure Tape by Pipe dream is a reusable PVC bondage tape. Unlike duct tape, you can lift it up and reapply without battling with it, but it does hold together well. You don't have to tie the tape like you would rope, and it's not sticky like one might expect. I would say this is more of a bondage beginner's tool, or maybe to switch things up a bit for the average player. This is definitely not a "heavy" restraint by any means.

The Pleasure Tape is made from pink PVC. PVC is a 2 on the safety scale due to it being very porous. However, unless you are planning on crafting an insertable made from the tape, this isn't a huge concern. I've had my roll for several years and it is still in as good of shape as the day I opened. PVC is a very durable plastic with a very, very long life, which makes it ideal for this kind of toy.




As you can see, the Pleasure Tape is roughly the same width as duct tape. The bondage tape is 4 inches wide and has a total length of around 66 feet. Given that the tape only sticks to itself but isn't actually sticky, you can readjust it if you think it's too loose, something that's a bit tougher to do with duct tape. I can't really think of a scenario where someone couldn't use the tape, unless you are allergic to PVC somehow. This is one of those toys that is actually one size fits most/all.

The Pleasure Tape does what it's intended to. I wouldn't say it's an amazing miracle tape, but it does the job. The tape is thin enough to where you can tear it off without needing scissors, which is nice. If you work up a sweat, it does get a bit slippery and you may find your sub slipping out. I've managed to slip out of it before, so this isn't something you would want to use on a bottom that prides themselves on being able to get out of ties.

There is not much in the way of "care and maintenance" as far as this tape goes. The Pleasure Tape, while reusable, is also disposable. When you are done with it, it's easier just to undo the tie, ball the tape up, and toss it in the trash. Because it's disposable, there is no real cleaning to be done. Storage is easy, too. I keep my tape in the tote I keep most of my bondage toys in. It's thrown together with various impact toys, vet wrap, and other BDSM accoutrements. I have had no issues with there being an interaction with other toys, or the tape getting damaged, and the tote gets moved around quite a bit. The tape is pretty much as low maintenance as they come.
