Whip discontinued

Whip it? Whip it (not so) good.

Total bummer. Pretty loud and pretty weak. The only way I can see this working is for a couple interested more in the action and sound of flogging/being flogged than in the sensation.

Use

This toy accomplished none of the things I was looking for it to do. When we began exploring power play, my partner and I decided to invest in a Flogerella as a way to mitigate my desire for pain with our extreme awareness of our tragically thin walls. We purchased it on the advice of a friend who told us it packed some zing but kept comparatively quiet. Sadly, that doesn't seem to be the case at all! While the soft leather is lovely for sensually dragging across the skin, actually trying to inflict pain with this is an exercise in futility. As hard as you swing it, the most you’re gonna get is a so-mild-it's-virtually-imperceptible sting. And even at low speed, it makes the sound of a chorus of snapping rubber bands. Neither of us is happy; too loud for him, too soft for me.

If you're looking for a serious baby step in BDSM generally or flogging specifically, this might not be the worst idea, though. The flogger packs little punch, leaving both the dom and the sub at ease (really, you'd have to spear someone in the eye with it to produce a sensation more pronounced than the snapping of a bra strap). That being said, the sound produces an enticing level of drama. Could be a nice intro to the theatrics of SM play without the nerve wracking "Am I gonna do you serious damage?" first time jitters.

Design / Craftsmanship / Size / Material / Features

The soft material is sensually pleasing, but leaves a lot to be desired if you're looking for any level of pain. It's lightweight which, in combination with the thin strap attached to the end of the handle, makes it easy to swing. Given that it's real leather, the craftsmanship is approximately what you'd expect at its low price. The handle appears a bit shoddily made. Also, because of its texture, I found it can shed a bit onto silicone toys. Nothing irreparable, just a bit annoying. I'm a sucker for the smell of leather; so, in that sense, it was a nice boudoir addition.

Performance

I was fairly disappointed by this toy. Given it's zing:noise ratio, I've had to leave it almost wholly unused, sitting in the toy box for months. It made a surprisingly pleasant appearance once as part of a massage, my partner dragging the leather stands along my back, arms, and legs in a pleasant manner. But, for me, that's been the extent of its usefulness. Possibly great for a tentative beginner (with a thicker-walled apartment) but not for me.

Sorry this flogger didn't work out for you! I've looked at this toy before, but am glad now that I didn't end up taking the plunge and getting it because when I'm in the mood for flogging, I'm definitely in the mood for a substantial zing! The pink version of this is at least pretty!

    Great review!

Good review, but I will say that since this a suede finish flogger as opposed to a top grain leather flogger, there will not be much sting. It's what we call "thuddy," and since this is the Floggerella in particular, it's intended to be much, much lighter even than a heavier thuddy flogger. You might enjoy a flogger that I reviewed on the site - not only is it top-grain leather, but its tails are also cut into points so that it gives more of a sting on impact.

Thanks for the head up! Any advice on something that packs a punch but more quietly?

Of course! I reviewed this flogger: [https://www.edenfantasys.com/hearts-leather-whip/adult-toys-dvds-26258] and it's not that loud in swing, but it does pack a punch. I'm not sure if it's in your price point though.

These are some that I have not tested out, but I've heard good things about:
[https://www.edenfantasys.com/fulfill-a-fantasy-flogger/adult-toys-dvds-21449] This one is a suede flogger, so it's thuddy like the Floggerella but it's more heavy in the tails, so it gives a harder thump.
[https://www.edenfantasys.com/crave-strap-whip/adult-toys-dvds-23489] This is one of the strap floggers that Edenfantasys carries. It's more like the one that I reviewed, the Hearts Leather Whip, but it's less money. Those seem fairly good too, but then again, I've never tried one to tell.

All of these choices are fairly quiet. I will say, however, that it's hard to find something that packs a punch but is still quiet. Very hard, indeed.

If you really want "zing" you could try a rubber flogger. Rubber tends to be very stingy without much thud. I've never tried a floggerella, so I'm not really sure how loud it is, but I would say that rubber is generally a bit quieter than leather. Personally, I've found that the screaming is much louder than the flogging when my partner uses his rubber flogger. I'm a wuss about stingy things, though.

Nice review. Keep us posted on what you try next!

In my opinion there's no use for a flogger with no sting
