Whip or tickle, but don't expect much!

The Whipper Tickler looks pretty in a basket of sensual products and it seems that was the manufacturer's focus. It's a fun tease for less intense play and the subtle sting of the whip is great for genital slapping, but sadly won't hold up for long. It's nice for a honeymoon, but for long-term play, I would prefer something made of better quality.

Use

The Whipper Tickler is mostly a couples toy, but if you wanted, you could use this solo. The Whipper tickler is basically a small puff of pretty feathers and 110 strips of rubber on a plastic stick. It's a simple, but fun little teaser that won't suffice for a long term spanker, but the feather ticklers will continue to tickle for a while if you're careful.

This little Whipper Tickler is cute and pretty innocent making it a decent choice for a couples very first venture into BDSM. It also does OK as a neat little extra for a relaxing tickle or light spank. Clearly this is not the advanced BDSM user's BFF, but it does have a few fun uses for very light play for those who are and are not into BDSM.

The best areas to use the Whipper Tickler would be the back, butt, legs, neck, breasts. I wouldn't use the whip end on the neck, but the feather ticklers feel so nice and somewhat relaxing when your partner dances them over your neck, back, stomach, breasts and butt. The rubber whip can be used without the worries of causing pain to your partner or the worries of recieving too much pain. While they do produce a light sting when the strips catch at the right spot, the stick will break before you're able to use a painful force. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, but the Whipper Tickler was not designed for any kind of pain or heavy play so it's not a con.

The rubber whip end is perfect for genital spanking. For such a sensitive area, using the Whipper Tickler for spanking is a great option. It can spit out quite the sting when it hits the labia though so light slaps may be best to start out with. You can also let the ends of the rubber strands dance across your partner's body for a tiny tease.

The plastic stick is 26" long and thin enough to break very easily. The plastic stick is supposed to be flexible, but it's hardly that. It has enough flex where you can slap a little roughly, but it could easily be snapped in half with 2 fingers! Given the description, I did expect it to be more flexible.

The idea of having a cute puffy feather tickler and a rubber whip all in one is awesome, unfortunately, I don't feel that much work was put into this at all and that's a shame. A product like this, made more durable, would've been something I spend a lot of time using and love. However, this seems it was made more for looks than anything.

I know someone who had her Whipper Tickler come apart at the ends. The rubber strips fell out and later hers broke. I've examined mine closely and so far there's no signs of falling apart, but it certainly isn't going to hold up for a long time.

The tickler end is made of feathers, the red ones are a lot like a boa. It's like a tiny strip of a boa bent into a circle and both ends stuck down in the stick. I hope this makes sense. In easier words, it's like a circular shape of tiny feathers. The white longer feathers that are strewn throughout the puff are ostrich feathers and they feel so nice on erogenous zones! One complaint I have with this is there could certainly be more feathers there. It would create a much better product. It could also use more rubber strips. From what I've counted there are 110 rubber strips and while that sounds like a lot, it really isn't. When my partner first held it, he said "wow, you really don't get much whip or tickle with this." I told him there were 110 strips of rubber and we both thought it looked and felt like a lot less. More strips make more sting.

This is a pretty small little thing and is light weight. It is adorable, especially the pink one. It's cute enough to be left out (in some areas) without looking raunchy.

Performance

I love the soft tickle of the ostrich feathers on my back, butt, stomach and crotch. They feel nice anywhere on the body and the rubber strips do have a fun little sting if you work at it. Slapping in the same area over and over will leave a red spot and starts to sting afterwards.

The rubber strips had a powdery substance on them and the scent is very strong. After several days, the rubber scent dissipates and starts to smell good to me. The powder seemed like it could be a possible allergy concern to some, but after running under water it cleans off.

There's not much you can do with the Whipper Tickler besides tease and tickle and that is definitely fun, but for something so simple, the construction is unecessarily poor. Holding it in my hand, it's very fragile and I don't think the manufacturer made this sturdy enough for use. Perhaps decorative purposes were what they had in mind for this?

When I slap my arm with the whip end, it will sometimes wrap around and sting a little. It gives enough of a sting for light teasing which is appreciated, but I won't buy it again. Since there are only 110 rubber strips, it doesn't spread out when it hits your body. It won't cover an entire butt cheek, but instead will sting in one small area.

Care and Maintenance

I've not needed to clean this since it's used externally and doesn't break the skin or come in contact with fluids. However, I have rinsed the rubber strips and plastic stick to rid it of the powder. It held up fine, but avoid getting those feahter wet!

I wouldn't recommend getting this dirty since having to clean it will cause it to come apart quicker. Like I said, I know someone who had both ends come off of the stick and I imagine only a few rinses will loosen the strips.

Since the feathers are tiny and delicate, storing this in a cramped up area isn't a great idea. Since it's cute, I keep it in my open basket of Shunga products. It could be store in a toy box on top without breaking. However, you should be careful where you store it due to the flimsy stick. It could easily snap.

It's easy to care for since no serious cleaning is needed. An anti-bacterial toy spray is a good option for cleaning the stick and rubber strips and will probably be less likely to mess it up than water.

Packaging

This came tied to a piece of thin cardboard. It's simply the Whipper Tickler with a piece of cardboard on the back. There's nothing protecting it from smushing. The piece of cardboard didn't have any trashy photos or too vulgar text. The back lists a few ways of using this such as playing "maid" or tickling or spanking. Nothing extreme, but discrete enough for me to feel comfortable. No instructions or anything included.

The piece of cardboard is not going to store this. It just gets tossed and you're on your own with storage. The lack of quality means you will need to place it somewhere to protect it from being broken or the feathers ruined. Then again, if the lack of quality really leaves you unsatisfied, you may not care to bother with protecting it.

I store mine in my basket of Shunga products on my vanity. It just sticks right up looking puffy and cute.

This is something that could make a nice gift. I'd feel comfortable giving it to the ladies in my life. You could take the carboard off and stick it in a basket of sensual products. Honestly though, I'd just prefer buying one of more quality anyways.

Experience

I love the feather ticklers and rubber whips are one of my favorites so the Whipper Tickler seemed like a perfect light play toy. I was disappointed that the feather puff was so small and not enough to give much of a tickle. The amount of rubber strips also were minimal and not enough to produce much of a sting even for someone like me who doesn't like serious pain.

There are a couple of things that I do really like about this though. The first is that it's perfect for light crotch spanking since it will sting, but only a little. It's great when you aren't looking for anything but a tease.

I enjoy when my partner makes the feathers dance all over my stomach and other parts, but it could've been much better with more feathers.

We do enjoy this for now, but prefer a higher quality whip for mild play. However, it is fun to blindfold your partner and surprise them with a tickle or whip! You do have to get creative with this one.

Thanks for the review. I guess it would be wise to pay a bit more for better quality. We have feathers and we have whips, but we don't have a dual purpose tickler. Perhaps I'll look for one. It would be handy to just have one thing to hold.
