-Sexy Sihouette-

The Spellbound mask by Coquette can be used for light or heavy play, and also works perfectly in the bedroom for sleep. The soft material is one of the major pluses with this mask. The soft padding on the inside feels great on the eyes. The Spellbound mask also has 2 straps, instead of one. This mask has all the comforts and perks of a high priced mask. For 8.99-11.99, this mask can't be beat. Make sure to check out the measurements, to be sure of the fit.

Use

The Spellbound mask by Coquette is perfect for both genders, and has a fit for a variety of sizes. This particular mask fits into the Spellbound Collection from Coquette. I actually purchased it to go with the Spellbound corset that I just received. I would have to say that it ties in great with my corset. The sash/restraints on the corset match the material used on the front of the mask, perfectly. The mask looks great with the corset.

The Spellbound mask will work for bedroom play, bondage play, light play, sex games, for sleeping, for napping, and anything in between. This mask isn't just girly looking. My partner tried to put it on, and it looked like it could be for a male, as well. His only problem is that he is a tall guy, and the mask wouldn't fit him. He almost ripped it, trying to put it on. His head is 24" in circumference.

With me being a person who adores sleep masks and regular masks to play in, I had to grab this one. It matched my Spellbound lingerie, which would be even more perfect to play some sexy games in. After we finished playing the game, I could fall asleep in the mask as well. The mask is very versatile.

I really liked that it has double elastic straps for the head. This allows for a better fit for most people.
It would be best used by both beginners or advanced users. The mask is very easy to put on, and take off. I wouldn't get extremely rough with it, as the elastic is sewn onto the surface of the mask, and the material is somewhat delicate. It's not sewn in between the fabrics. This makes it easier to fix, if it does get ripped.

My favorite uses for the mask is playing games and sleeping in it. The fit is a little snug on my eyes, but after a little more use, it should stretch out to the perfect fit. If it ever gets to where it's a little too stretched out, I can just snip some of the elastic, and then sew it up.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The design of the mask is like a basic sleep mask that is rounded along the edge and has a curve, down towards the nose area. The top side of the mask (silver)is satin. The black edging around the mask is satin. On the underneath of the mask, there is a soft material that feels like a cotton type fabric. It's super soft! It also feels great against the face, and eyes. There are two pieces of elastic on the mask. The first piece goes across the top of the mask. The other elastic piece runs along the bottom of the mask. The helps fit a tighter fit and it also helps with blocking out light. Inside the mask, there is a layer of foam padding which is very soft. It's much softer than the padding found in some Bras. I can't see what my partner is doing while I have this on.

On the part of the mask that fits on the face, there are three tags. The bottom tag had the care instructions and material type. The middle tag has the size. The top tag is the brand tag. This is black. The location where the tags are, is odd. Even though it doesn't bother me much, except when I'm putting it on; I'm going to remove them soon.

I really like how the mask fits my face, and I like the style, and cut of the mask. It's not super fancy, but the material is soft. It's very comfortable to sleep in. I actually slept in it last night. Though, it's still not my top sleep mask, it works well for playing in.

The mask seems to be very well made. I tried to stretch it a few times, with full force, and it never snapped apart. The seams are sewn with a small single stitch, and the elastic is sewn well onto the mask. This could last many years, since it's not going to be yanked on a lot. If it is going to be pulled on a lot, I would still think that it would last a little while longer, than most other masks.

There was no smell to the mask. It just smelled like new clothing, before it has been washed. There was nothing that irritated my nose or skin from the fabric that is placed on the side of the face.

The mask fits me perfectly, and it's very snug.
Although the mask is O/S, which is stated on the tag, along the bottom side of the mask, it's not One size fits all. It doesn't fit my partner at all. He tried to put it on but it would not fit. His head was too large. It was extremely uncomfortable on his face. I really think this mask would be catered to females. In the case of fit, for females, the fit would be better.

My head is: 21 1/4"

My partner's head is almost 24"

I would imagine that anyone that has a head circumference of over 22" may find this mask to be too snug.

The mask states that it's made from 50% Acetate and 50% Nylon.

The mask does what it is made for. It keeps out the light, for the most part, and I'm unable to see what is going on. It works great for sleep, which is what I will eventually only use it for. I like to sleep in complete darkness, and this mask definitely is great for that. It covers up quite a bit of my forehead, and reaches almost to my temples. My face is a little smaller, so it may not fit this large on others. This mask is not adjustable. In order for a perfect fit, measure your head before purchasing. I've included the measurements of the mask, below.

[bold|-Satin face panel width, with trim: 6 3/4"

[bold|-Satin face panel width, without trim: 6 1/4"

[bold|-Satin face panel length: 3"

[bold|-Satin trim width: 2/4"

[bold|-Elastic width: 2/4"

[bold|-Both elastic lengths: 10 7/8"

[bold|-Full mask circumference, unstretched: 18 2/3"

[bold|-Full mask circumference, stretched to maximum: 24"

Performance

The mask blocks out all the light at the top. It does show some light coming through on both sides of the mask, near my nose. My nose isn't the flattest nose around, so it may be better for you, or it would be worse. It would depend on how far the bridge of the nose comes off the face.

I like that I can use it for play and to sleep with. It really went nicely with my Spellbound corset. It matched perfectly. Now, I just need to get the gloves that also match.

I really like that the mask isn't bulky, or too large for my face. It's easy to put on an take off. It doesn't slide off when it's in use. It stays exactly where I put it. It also doesn't move around much, while I'm sleeping. It doesn't dig into my face, or head. It doesn't cause pain to my face, or cause my skin to itch.
    • Easy to put on / use
    • Holds up to use well
    • Comfortable during use

Care and Maintenance

When I'm finished using the mask for sleep or play purposes, I just place it back into the envelope packaging that it arrived in. I slide it right into my lingerie drawer. I actually place it standing up, against the side of my drawer. It takes up almost no space. I can also place it flat in the drawer. The envelope is so thin! I could slide it into my purse/bag, and no one would know a thing. It would travel perfectly.

The care tag states to hand wash, and hand to dry. The mask contains acetate. Acetate is a type of synthetic fabric that will require special washing and drying, to keep it in good condition. Acetate dries quickly, and is best if spot cleaned, if something spills on it. Some, or most acetate fabrics will need to be dry cleaned for their care. Acetate is made to look like silk. Do not twist of wring the mask, as it can rip, since the material is thin and a little more delicate than most everyday materials.

If you wear makeup, or face creams, especially eye makeup, be sure to wear the mask without the makeup on the face, while sleeping. This can cause your pores to clog, and it can also stain the mask.

Packaging

The Spellbound mask arrived in a heavy, and thick, paper packaging.

The packaging measures at 8" X 4 1/4".

The package is very thin.

On the front, there is a model wearing the mask, with silver gloves, makeup, and earrings. The package has SB and SPELLBOUND on the front. The SB, looks like silk ribbons. The SPELLBOUND is in a classic and fancy font. Towards the bottom right hand corner, the packages reads, Spellbound Eye Mask.

On the back, There is a photo of the model lying on a bed, with the Spellbound corset on, along with gloves, stockings, garters, etc. It is a tasteful photo and there is no nudity.

The back also states:

Spellbound Eye Mask

1 PC. Satin eye mask with double strap detail.

O/S Silver & Black

It also has this wording in another language.

There is a sticker showing the size, color, and a bar code.

The bottom states 50% Acetate, 50% Nylon.

The packaging is not totally discreet, but it's not horribly tasteless.

The packaging looks like an envelope. One end is sealed, and it opens at the other end. This end has a tab that can be tucked in. It's easy to open and close. This end arrived with a single piece of tape on it, to seal it.

The packaging is paper, so it can be recycled.

Personal comments

I'm so happy that I purchased this mask. It's almost as comfortable as my top favorite. My asbolute favorite mask is the good girl/bad girl mask by Booty parlor. It's 100% silk, and it's the softest mask that I own. It was also more expensive, at 26.99, where the Spellbound mask was only 11.99, when I purchased it. I really like them both. I've added a comparison photo below. I would like to see Coquette bring out some cute masks, similar to the one from Booty Parlor. I would buy all of them, if they did.

I have another mask that I like. It was much more expensive than the two that were mentioned above. It's the Intima silk blindfold, by LELO. This one is 100% silk as well. I guess I have a thing for luxury items, and silk. I really like this mask as well. All 3 of these masks are in my top 3 masks that I own, and I own quite a few.

The bottom line is that the Spellbound mask performed nearly as well, or as well as products that were significantly higher in price. For the vale and comfort, you just can't beat this mask. I'm so glad that it's now in my collection.

Follow-up commentary
This mask still gets a lot of use from me and my partner. It doesn't fit him perfectly, but I've been able to stretch it out more for him. I do wear it more than he does. I still like to use it for play and sleeping.
