You get what you pay for...

I wasn't a big fan of this product for quite a few reasons. It is okay if you are out shopping and pick it up in a pinch to experiment, but you definitely get what you pay for. It's not well-made, it's not comfortable, it won't last and it really won't be much different than if you used your own fabric and just cut it up. I wouldn't spend the money on it.

Use

I'm way overdue for this product review because I didn't have a lot of chances to experiment with it. To be honest, I wasn't really that thrilled once I took it out of the package.

This is a basic bondage kit with four sashes and an eyemask.

I suppose this is okay for a beginner who doesn't want to invest a lot of money on something if they are just "toeing the water" with bondage. It's not horrible and there are worse products out there, but I also feel like there are better. If you are being quick and cheap and just wanting to try something new, this wouldn't be a bad idea.

Design / Craftsmanship / Material / Size / Fit

The ties are made as simply as you can imagine. One layer of fabric is used and the edges are stitched to avoid fraying. The product still frays, so be careful. The eyemask is two layers of the same fabric with two elastic bands sewn into the stitching on the edge.

The cuts are all symmetrical and the stitching is done well. My problem is really in the materials. It looks like the design started out as a good idea, but it's impossible to make it work with such thin fabric.

The eyemask is also a bit uncomfortable, but part of that is due to the fabric. There is a "pinchy" feel across the top of the nose. I feel like a softer, plushy material would remedy this. The straps are held at the point where the pinching occurs, so it causes the fabric to be more taught in that area. The material has no give and just makes it feel like there is intense pressure right across the nose.

Performance

I was not impressed. It wasn't the worst of its kind, but it certainly isn't top quality. You do have to consider the price in this case and realize that I wasn't really all that surprised, either. I liked the silky feel of it, the affordable price and it was "pretty", but the practical use just wasn't what I would want out of a product like this. The sashes hold you in place, that's for sure. It serves its general purpose.

That said, the ties fray easily and the mask isn't comfortable. The two combined just made me feel like I was missing the entire point of investing money in a kit, rather than cutting up fabric myself. There is a difference between "I want this product" and "this will do". I don't want to pay ANY money for "this will do", personally.

Care and Maintenance

The care and maintenance of this is easy in some ways, but you do have to remember to be gentle. The fabric frays so easily (Even with the stitching!) that it's hard to really CLEAN the material without causing problems. I usually just use mild soap and cool water and rinse REALLY well. I let them air dry.

As far as storage goes, it's super easy to just lay these things in a drawer with clothes. I try to keep mine wrapped in a cloth bag. They are going to be fine as long as you store them in reasonable temperatures. The synthetic, silky material won't do well in heat.

Packaging

The ties and mask came in a plastic bag inside a BIG BOX of cardboard. By "big box", I mean it was a lot of box for the size of the product. It seemed excessive. The packaging looked like your typical girlie colors and features a scantily clad model on the package who is "modeling" the wares. No actual nudity is on the box. I wouldn't call it classy, but I have seen worse. I wouldn't say it was offensive.

Personal comments

I'm not the biggest fan of this kit. I tried finding alternative uses for it, I tried using it as it was intended... I just really wasn't feeling it. Such care has to be taken to keep the ties intact and the eyemask is so uncomfortable, I never really wear it. I wouldn't really send someone to buy this.

Thank you, Dear. I'm glad you found it informative. I really took my time with this and wanted to be fair. I had to consider the price for the quality and decide if the balance made it good or bad...
