I like to be spanked. Hard. While my husband can turn my ass red nicely with his hand, we both wanted to explore something a bit harder. The Impressions Paddle Hearts paddle by Spartacus caught my eye, and we thought we’d take it for a slap. We were eager to try out this paddle when it arrived. This would be our first paddle, and one of the first toys my husband and I picked out together. We were not disappointed.

This paddle is crafted from leather, and has that wonderful leather scent. The entire paddle is 12 1/2” long, and made from two 1/4" pieces of leather. The handle, which is about 7 1/2" long, is stitched securely around, even at it’s base. It has a metal ring through it, and the Sportsheets logo embossed on its front. Through the metal ring is a nylon wrist cord to attach the paddle to your wrist so it doesn’t go flying during use. You can also hang the paddle from this when you’re not using it, if you have an inconspicuous place to do so. The handle is easy to grip, and feels comfortable when grasped in your hand.

The paddle itself is 5” long, and about 3” wide. It’s the same continuous pieces of leather from the handle, but they aren’t sewn together. This allows a bit of play in the paddle, and creates a nice smacking sound when wielded with a bit of force. The front piece has three hearts cut out of it, and the back piece is solid. The insides of each of the paddle pieces has a smooth feel and the hearts have no ragged edges. Sewn to the handle inside is a red piece of thick paper that accents the hearts.

While the leather is water resistant, and won’t tear, the paper does ripple a bit when it gets wet, although it appeared to dry straight. Don’t immerse the paddle in water when cleaning, instead wipe it with a damp cloth and a mild soap if it gets dirty. If the paper ever rips or is too damaged by water and/or lubricants, it can be removed by cutting it close to where it’s sewn in. It only adds to the aesthetic look of the paddle and doesn’t add any functionality, so don’t worry too much if something happens to it.

When wielded with sufficient force, the slap of the paddle will leave a red rectangular area on your skin. Inside this area will be three hearts on your unspanked skin. If you want the hearts to show up, you can’t spank lightly. Once you start using the paddle for a serious spanking, the heart and rectangular areas overlap and you don’t see them anymore.

When my husband first started spanking me with this, he was pretty gentle, and the paddle felt like a gentle slap. As our play continued, however, he began putting more force behind his strokes, and this baby stings! I found myself tensing in anticipation of the next slap. We also found that as I got sweaty, the leather would slap my ass with a thwap and stick to my skin somewhat. It felt absolutely wonderful!

When we were done, I looked at myself in the mirror, and my ass was entirely red. The paddle didn’t leave any welts, but my entire ass stung. In fact, it was sore for a considerable time afterward.

The Impressions Heart Paddle is a great paddle, and worth the price. This is a definite addition to our toy box for those times I’ve been bad.
