A great concept, but not durable enough for nearly $50

This item is worth it for those slow & loving coupled or solo encounters. Or perhaps some pretty kinky and transgressive anal. But not for pounding away. Oh no.

Use

The best part about this toy, hands down (no pun intended), is that it's bendable. I bought the toy primarily for use in a strap-on, after a string of sad dildos that hung limp or barely above horizontal disappointed my bisexual girlfriend who said that "real cock curves up...and hits all the right spots in amazing ways."

Well, thank God for Silky.

After the first use it became our favorite toy, one of the only cocks that can maintain not only a realistic "erection" but the "perfect erection" since you can tune it to the angle your girl likes.

The base was very thick for our non-adjustable leather harness with a smallish metal D-ring, and would constantly pop the snaps off. But I'm convinced it would fit well in a harness with a larger ring, rubber (and therefore more flexible) ring, or a cut-out or pouch for balls or flared bases.

The problem? The toy broke after about 3-4 uses during somewhat vigorous penetration. It is NOT a toy you can be any kind of rough with. The foundation of this toy is its bendable spine; in our case, the spine snapped, leaving poor Silky cocked dramatically to the right. Not only no longer adjustable, but no longer comfortable as a "regular" dildo either. We would have bought another one if not for the fact that the product on display at the toy shop also had a snapped spine. The shop employee told us some customers were mishandling it and that is why it broke. Well, combined with our toy's dysfunction during appropriate use, we weren't ready to risk another $45 when it had a 0/2 record.

Material / Texture

The surface of this toy smells, tastes, and most importantly FEELS absolutely wonderful, especially when dusted with a bit of cornstarch (otherwise it gets a bit sticky). It's also nice and squishy, and warms to the touch. It's not hard and cold and plastic-y at all like other dildos. Plus, you gotta love the ridges and bumps and nice head. I think this is a toy that feels realistic in all the right ways, making it perfect for both beginners and more advanced users. As a plus, it's easy to clean as well. Just a little soap and water.

Design / Shape / Size

This toy looks like a cock and not an alien, but is still not so realistic as to be a turn-off for people who prefer their women without bulging veins and hairy balls. The colors it comes in are feminine and sexy (dark purple or soft pink). The smiley face on the head is a nice touch.

The shape is great and very realistic. The ridges on the top edge are subtle and pleasurable, but unfortunately there are no ridges on the bottom edge.

My partner and I found the size to be a bit small. Width was ok (wouldn't have minded it a tad thicker), but could have definitely used an extra inch in length. It's very average size for a dildo at a medium-slim 6.5 inches, especially as it is so soft and squishy and delicate.

Performance

I think I've hit on what is best about this toy numerous times; the innovative bendable feature, the beautiful and realistic feel when it's inside you, and the stylish and pleasing design.

What's not so great about this toy only became apparent after a few uses but unfortunately they were huge (and in one case insurmountable) problems; the large base fit awkwardly in our harness and popped off the snaps, and the bendable spine is not durable at all causing the dildo to break/be rendered useless way too soon.
    • Comfortable
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Weak

Care and Maintenance

I always washed it with soap and water, dried it with a towel, and dusted it with corn starch to give it a smooth and realistic (rather than sticky and plastic-y) feeling. I stored it in a gym bag at the back of the closet.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

I honestly don't remember the package or whether it came with instructions - it was super intuitive though.

Personal comments

Wish they would come out with a Silky 2.0; a thinner base for better harness compatibility, 7.5 inches in length, and with a more durable spine. I would buy it in a heartbeat.

As it stands, this still has a place on our "favorite toys" list... even if it's also the toy that lasted us the shortest amount of time!

Experience

We're pretty vanilla. I can't believe it broke!

Great review, amp. You did a great job describing all the upsides of this, and I'm so sorry that it eventually had a downside (or a right side, I suppose.)

  • Silky as packer...??
    • Hey, I've heard of someone using the silky as a packer before I think. Has anyone tried this?
    • This doesn't belong in the vibrator section...

But since you asked, I LOVE packing with Silky. It's basically the only cock that I know of that is comfortable for packing, functional for fucking, and made of non-disgusting material. The key is it's flexible spine, which allows it to bend and hold different positions, like a down position for packing and an up position for fucking. The downside is that the spine can break, but Silky's not that expensive to replace every once and awhile.

There are plenty of flexible silicone harness-compatible cocks (Vixskin, O2, etc) out there that can fuck but don't pack well, and there are soft cocks (Mr. Right, Mr. Limpy, or the VIP Super Soft) that can pack but don't fuck well. And there are a few other cocks with bendable spines, but they're made of disgusting materials that leech chemicals. Silky is made of high quality elastomer, which is porous and not as good as silicone, but way better than the alternatives.

In summary: pack with Silky! He's the best!
