Venus bumble bee by California Exotic

This was the first strap-on I purchased. I admit I bought it because it was lower priced and seemed like a “good deal.” It actually is a pretty good deal – well, for me anyway.

This is a vibrating bullet in a “butterfly” shape, with rubber nubs for clitoral stimulation of the wearer attached to a medium size vibrating dildo. Each vibrator has its own speed control, controlled by the same controller. It is actually very pretty to look at. My partner and I are both very feminine and we liked the pink. I always like pretty girly-looking toys.

The straps snap closed and are adjustable, but they are thin elastic and I could see them being flimsy with extended use. I do not know how big the straps can be adjusted. Both my female partner and I are sizes 8-12 and the straps fit us fine with room to adjust larger. The straps are not very sturdy, but we didn't have trouble keeping it in place.

The only instructions regarding cleaning on the box or packaging were “Wash before & after each use.” It is rubber and should be cleaned well. I use toy cleaner and warm water. It should also be used with a condom – but there is a issue with part of that. The bumblebee part is awkwardly shaped for really any kind of coverage. I'm sure someone will know a way for me to cover it and leave it as a comment. *hint* It was not easy to clean the bumblebee part at all. There is no way to detach the motors or straps, the vibrating parts aren't waterproof, and they are right where you need to clean the most. As I couldn't put the butterfly under running water I wound up spending quite a bit of time cleaning it and then rinsing the cleaner off very carefully.

Neither vibrators are loud, especially while being worn and used. The clitoral use butterfly has lots of smaller nubs and two larger nubs, one at the top and one at the bottom. The two larger nubs are pretty hard and both my female partner and I felt them uncomfortable at times. The one on the top is much harder than it should be. Not enough to stop using it, but still worth mentioning. The smaller nubs feel great with or without the vibrations turned on. The butterfly portion covered my entire clit/labia area. The vibrations are not pinpointed, but are so strong that it didn't matter for me. The insertable length just wasn't long enough for my partner. She said it fell short of her g-spot. The length was fine for me and hit my g-spot, but I am rather shallow. The vibrations in the dildo part are not as strong as an individual bullet, but still strong, and come from about midway up the dildo. The butterfly vibrations seem much stronger. When both vibrators are on it is a lot of vibration, not earth shattering, just lot of sensation. Having both vibrators on high at the same time was almost overwhelming.

I'm not giving this the full 5 stars because of the sometimes painful top nub on the butterfly portion and the difficultly in cleaning. If those issues were resolved it would be 5 stars all the way.

I wore the Bumble Bee first to penetrate my partner. We tried several positions to get the penetration deep enough for her, but we never could find a way. (In all fairness, the strap-on we normally use is nearly twice the length of this one.) We finally stopped with her riding me, facing me. For me, that was amazing. Her hips pushing the vibrations down on my clit was awesome. That pesky top nob did bother me if she leaned toward me too much. Otherwise, the rest of the butterfly moving against me had me at orgasm very quickly.

When my partner wore the Venus Bumble Bee and penetrated me it was perfect for me. The dildo could bend enough so that when I was riding her I could bend around a bit and play with her. The slight curve of the dildo hitting my g-spot, combined with all the vibrations going was the perfect combination for a beautiful orgasm for me. My partner also orgasmed from the clitoral stimulation of the butterfly. As I felt, she said the top nub of the butterfly was too hard if pushed up against her. Both of us were able to adjust to avoid that nub eventually.

Another nice point: we could both feel the butterfly vibrations when pressed against each other, no matter who was the wearer. I've not experienced a strap-on where the vibrations for the wearer were as strong as this one provides. It was wonderful to be able to press our hips against each other and see the pleasure we were giving each other simultaneously.

I have also strapped this to a sturdy stool and used it for solo play. Yummy great idea. I positioned it so I could just sit on it and the dildo curved exactly to hit my g-spot. As I mentioned above, the person being penetrated can also feel the butterfly vibrations when pushing against the base. At first I was a little afraid of letting all my weight down on it, but then I remembered how much weight my partner and I had put on it, so I ground against it rather ferociously. It held up just fine and was a really fabulous solo experience.
