Doesn't this Sherbet Look Tasty?

I found Tantus’ Sherbet to be a great dildo. It has a bulbous, textured head, a curved shaft, includes a bullet vibe that can be inserted into the base, and is harness compatible. What more could you ask for, really? I guess one might ask for dual stimulation, but that would really add to the complexity and I think the simplicity here is part of the beauty. I’m just glad I got one before they all disappeared.

Pros
100% silicone material, great curve, textured head.
Cons
Base may be a little small, and the Sherbet is no longer available.

extremely useful review
How should I describe the Sherbet by Tantus? This thing is a bright colored harness-compatible silicone dildo that has a bulge with swirl contours at the end of a curved shaft. It also conveniently is hollowed out on the base end to allow for insertion of the included bullet vibrator. There you have it, all the pieces of what I would consider a perfect dildo. It really does it all for me, so I really love the Sherbet.

Let’s see, how many ways have I found to use this thing? I have used it vaginally on my partner both with and without a harness. I have had my partner use it on me anally as well both with and without the harness. I have used it by myself in the shower both with and without a cool suction cup insert that I bought from Tantus. That suction cup is well worth the small investment, but it deserves its own review if Eden ever starts selling it. Send me an e-mail or leave a comment if you want information on how to acquire a suction cup. Getting back to the Sherbet, in every application it was up to the task and produced extremely satisfying orgasms for both of us. I find that I enjoy the decrease in size after the bulb is in and I like the smooth shaft which eases anal thrusting. The curve is great for prostate and g-spot stimulation. It wasn’t rigid enough to milk the prostate for me, but I could definitely feel the head as it moved past the prostate. The bullet vibrator didn’t add too much to the experience for me or my partner. Although the vibrations due tend to carry down the shaft pretty well, they just aren’t strong enough to make a big impact. I give Tantus credit for including the vibe though and providing a way for it to be applied. I have since purchased a micro bullet vibe with wired controller that is quite a bit stronger than the original bullet, and have to say that it does add some impact to the vibrations of the Sherbet. Don’t get me wrong silicone will never carry vibration like a metal or glass toy, but it makes it better and allows it to be felt.

Now, since the Sherbet is a silicone dildo, it is easy to clean and you can even sterilize it. The inertness of silicone also means that with a little care the toy will last a lifetime. This is good because it seems as though Tantus has decided to stop making the Sherbet. I have to think this is due to poor sales. It must be difficult to market such a distinctive looking toy, but for me, the Sherbet really hits the spot.
Experience
My partner and I have used several different dildos in our harness. Luckily we have a harness with a removable o-ring so that it can be adapted to whatever size dildo we want to use. In many instances the ring that came with the harness works great, but occasionally we have to switch the o-ring out to accommodate a smaller toy. Many Tantus toys have flanged bases for use in a harness, and the Sherbet is no exception. The base isn’t as big as those provided by other manufacturers, but as long as the o-ring is sized properly for the shaft of the toy and doesn’t stretch too much, it should be fine. Morale of the story is: make sure you have the right size o-ring for the toy you want to use. We didn’t personally have a problem, but we would hate for some one else to run into trouble.

You've done it again, Jimbo - another informative and well written review! It's a shame this dildo was discontinued, I don't know how so many were able to resist such an well made toy! And it's lime green! Anyhoo, I will look into the Tantus suction cups and talk to our product manager about carrying them on the site. Thanks!

I brought the suction cups up to one of your buyers a while back, but never got any interest in them. They would work for any dildo that has the hollow base for accepting the standard bullet vibe. This includes most of the Tantus vibrating dildos and those made by a lot of other companies. The suction cup holds very well and I have enjoyed it immensely. As for why the Sherbet was discontinued, I guess people just didn't see anything special in it. Their loss. Thanks for the compliment, In the pink!

I really love brightly colored sex toys, bright green and orange being my favorites. Too bad this one was discontinued, the design looks amazing.
    Great review Jimbo Jones...again ;P

Yeah, sometimes it's nice to be able to look in the toy box and think - "the green one's the one I want" instead of "black, black, black, red..." Thanks!

I'm with Bulma; as much as I love black, I can only have so many black, pink, red, and even blue toys before I just get bored. Green is a welcome option! And the bulbous head on this looks great for g-spot stimulation. Shame it was discontinued. =(

Maybe Tantus still has the mold laying around and will start making it again if enough people request it! I was just checking Tantus' website too as it was on their closeout list for the longest time, and it is no longer there either. I'm just glad I got mine before they were all gone. Thanks for the comment.

I'm not a big fan of green but it does look fun here. Like something out of the 80s. Hehe. I did find your tangent about the suction cup to be slightly out of place, though. =/

Another one added to the wish list! The color and shape are amazing!

Happy Lady - thanks for compliment, glad my reviews are worthwhile to you!
Adriana - 80s Green, I like it! Sorry about having to indulge myself about the suction cup.
Dame Demi - good luck on getting one, I can't seem to find them anywhere any more.

Hey I just got my Sherbet today direct from Tantus. Just wanted to let you know it was back in stock there. I hope I like it as much as you did.

I hope you like it as much as I did as well. I just checked tantusinc.com and they don't seem to have it listed again. They must not really be manufacturing it any more. There might be a few places with a few in stock, but I think it is a very endangered species at this point which is unfortunate in my opinion. At least you got yours! Enjoy!

I tore apart the net after reading your review of this a few months ago and managed to find one-one!- in England... I ordered it anyway, despite the exchange rate being horrid and I LOVE IT. LOVE LOVE LOVE it... thanks for your review!!
  • Contributor: Jimbo Jones
Wow, AngeldeSanguine, good find! I'm glad it didn't disappoint you after all of that, I would have felt bad. Not exactly sure why this design was scrapped, but I'm glad I got mine before they were all gone.

Green is my favorite color, so I am tempted to start my own collection of green sex toys. I'll have to put this one on my list!
  • Contributor: Jimbo Jones
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, seaofneptune, but unfortunately this toy has been discontinued by Tantus for quite a while. It might be very difficult to find one available for purchase at this point.
