Latigo leather harness review

You know, it’s not often said, but the best sex toys and products are the ones that keep it simple. It’s tempting to say less is more (but I do know some size queens that would beg to differ), so instead I’ll say that simple is sexy. To me, that describes the Latigo Leather Harness from Sportsheets in a nutshell. Simple. Sexy. Smart.

Where to begin? Let’s start at the price tag. This baby clocks under the $30 mark; much less expensive than the many other harnesses available. Why is that? Simple - nylon webbing and plain old quick snaps make up the straps on this harness. And how does it tighten and loosen? Why, with tried, tested and true nylon webbing cinchers – awfully similar to the ones you’ll find on your backpack’s straps. Yeah. I know. Dead simple. Tug strap to tighten. Pull gently upwards on plastic cincher to loosen. Genius.

The smart sexy simplicity doesn’t end there – this harness can be customized to fit any harness compatible dildo, simply by changing up the rubber o-ring. The o-ring is held to the harness by the aforementioned quick snaps, so swapping rings is absolutely no issue. Furthermore, if your harness gets a little – shall we say – messy, simply remove the ring and clean it however you deem appropriate…and then just throw the rest of the harness in a washing machine! Gotta like that!

This harness comes with a small latigo leather “pad” that would fit between the wearers mons and the base of a harness compatible dildo. This pad is mostly aesthetic, if you ask me, but I suppose does reduce the likelihood of nasty “pubic-hair ripped out by friction with dildo” type events (hey, silicone can be grabby!). Without the pad, the harness can be used to wear a double sided strap on dildo. This is my preferred use of this harness; to me, it is a fundamental part of my feeldoe, allowing me sensations and ranges of movement I would have never thought possible from an inert toy hugged ever so close to my body.

There are a number of double strap harnesses and strap on kits that feature this same basic harness design. This one in particular has a great price tag and no frills. If you ask me, that’s pretty much perfect.
