Echo review

This hard and gorgeous dildo made of high-grade silicone provides intense g-spot stimulation. The included bullet is a nice bonus, but not ideal for long-term use.
Published: May 31, 2008
Pros:
ridges are heavenly; silicone can be disinfected; it's gorgeous
Cons:
i wish it were a little bit longer; mini vibe with watch batteries doesn't last long

useful review
Echo is one of my top two favorie dildos for harness use! (The other is Raquel.)

This handsome dildo is made of very firm, high-grade silicone, and the ridges feel absolutely marvelous when they're inside of me. Actually, the ridges provide such fantastic stimulation of the g-spot that this is the only dildo I've tried that helps me ejaculate. My girlfriend was skeptical about the ridges at first, but she was sold after she tried it. It's not flexible at all, which is great for rough sex.

My main complaint is that it's a bit too short for some positions, and I wish I could have the same exact model with just an inch or two of extra length. It provides almost 6 inches of insertable length, but I find that about 7 or 8 inches is better for doggie-style penetration, especially if you and/or your partner is full-bodied. I use it mostly for penetration in the missionary position, and I must say it is divine for that. You can use it for manual stimulation, but I find that longer, more flexible dildos are more comfortable and effective for that.

The included mini bullet vibe was much less successful than the dildo itself. (A previous reviewer noted that the packaging didn't include instructions about removing the slip of plastic between the battery and the contact, but mine did come with instructions for activating the mini vibe.) The problem with the battery-operated vibe is that it doesn't last very long, and watch batteries can be expensive. My vibe pooped out after just a couple sessions. (They were extended, joyous sessions, mind you.) I solved the problem by using a mini bullet plugged into a controler that takes AA batteries and provides stronger vibrations. The cord can be a little cumbersome when used with a harness, but it's not a deal-breaker.

It should be noted that the very hard silicone doesn't transmit vibrations as well as softer silicone, but the vibrations are not the main feature for me with this dildo. I acutally usually use it without a bullet vibe anyway. And I use it very often.

Tip: Definitely use (water-based) lube around any mini-bullet you insert; it makes it a lot easier to remove it when necessary.
Follow-up commentary
I haven't been using Echo as often on my girlfriend, since she has come to prefer our newer Raquel dildo, but the ridges on the Echo still make it a prized possession for me. And when she fucks me with it, the short length doesn't seem to be as much of a problem as when I fuck her. The ridges are truly phenomenal. Lately, my G-spot-related ejaculations have been out of control when I'm stimulated either by my lover's talented fingers or these ridges. I should probably get some special sheets soon. Other reviewers have talked of the possibility of the ridges being too much for some people. I definitely see this as a possibility, although I don't think the ridges can actually hurt an aroused and well-lubricated vagina. Being penetrated by these ridges feels like an extension and repetition of the first thrust in, of the initial penetration that tends to elicit that special moan. I've had lovers who have a particularly strong response to that first penetration, and if you identify with that experience, you should definitely try it. I myself like it not so much because of the intense sense of repetitively being penetrated, but because it just hits my G-spot in exactly the right way.

It's definitely attractive and looks like the ridges would be quite stimulating!

I love the Raquel too (though I haven't used it in a harness...yet). It's actually my *only* pink toy.

I like the look of the Echo a lot...very pretty!  And it rocks that you can boil it/dishwash it (topshelf, no soap), or wipe it down with a 10% bleach solution, and play with ANYONE! :)

Great review.

That looks fantastic. Great review. I think I want one.... Too bad you said it's not great for play alone.

    • Okay, someone please tell me I'm not the only person in the world to have this happen. I was enjoying the Echo, and after I finished enjoying the Echo, I had my freaking finger stuck in the bullet hole on the bottom of the Echo. And by stuck, I mean STUCK! It took several slightly-panicky minutes to escape.

So, um, please tell me I'm not the only one?

We can't get our bullets out of some of the Tantus toy holes. Which is annoying, but also not a human body part.

Easiest way to make sure you can get it out - a couple drops of lubricant in the hole before you start playing. Then it'll slide out really nicely. (Your finger or bullet)

Yeah, I agree! I don't even know exactly how or when I stuck my finger in there in the first place. It certainly wasn't planned, and I sure felt foolish.
