Heart Throb
All in all, the sturdy, veiny Throb is a great introduction to the world of Tantus's silicone toys. Use it on yourself, use it on your partner, use a harness, put it in your butt (or someone else's butt!) - anything goes with this little heart-throb!Published: July 13, 2011
Pros:
Good texture, good for beginners, versatile, can be used for anal, can be used with a harness
Cons:
Slightly inconvenient to clean, could be too small for those who enjoy larger toys
The Throb by Tantus was my introduction to Tantus's high quality silicone toys. When it arrived, unassuming in its box, I wondered if I'd ordered the wrong size, until I held it in my hands. Average on all counts, in terms of size and girth (about five inches long and an inch and a half wide) it seems by all means to imitate the size of the average human penis - and that's a good thing! I enjoy toys of all sizes, so I excitedly examined my new treasure.
Boy, is it veiny. Veiny and textured in velvety silicone. The veins give what would be a rather realistic dildo a fantastical feel, with their deep ridges and valleys. The upward curve at the end showed promise that it may indeed "hit the spot" when used for solo g-spot play. I gave the surprisingly heavy toy a squeeze and met some give and then resistance - looked good so far!
And then the time came to play with it. I got out my favorite water-based lubricant (do not use silicone on this toy, as silicone lube will damage silicone toys) and got to it. Going inside, I could feel those interesting ridges - I am rather muscular "down there" and when I gave a good squeeze I could feel the firm resistance of the toy and was pleased that it didn't just bend around too much.
The girth was plenty, not the most I've enjoyed but certainly not lacking, and the veins added a whole new level of internal stimulation when thrusting in and out. The base is not enormous, but is big enough for a harness, to grip whilst using solo, or to make anal play safe.
I found that the curvature of the head led to some decent g-spot stimulation - not the most intense but definitely enough for a fun, hot solo session with the Throb. I recommend, if you are adept at using two hands, a clitoral vibe with this excellent dildo, for added WOW! At orgasm, I could definitely feel all those veins caressing my insides and it felt marvelous.
The material, pure silicone, is body neutral and incredibly easy to clean - toss it in the dishwasher for best results (on the top rack only). If you must wash by hand, you may need a sponge or a brush to get in the deep crevices that can hold on to lube and body fluids, but while this isn't as convenient as just running it through a cycle in the dishwasher, it isn't THAT inconvenient.

Best type of dildo
-
What is the best type of dildo to give to a woman who has never used a dildo before?
-
Hmm... I would guess something close to a size she's used to (medium sized if you're unsure on that), with a nice curve, easy to clean, perhaps some texture. The Throb would be a great choice.

I think it depends on a couple of things:
--what she wants to do with a dildo (e.g., g-spot vs. thrusting) ... what her hopes and dreams are sexually (cue violin music)
--what she likes and doesn't about material/texture, and I'd guess that lots of people don't know for sure, but they do have an idea
--what your relationship is to her
--how she feels about penises (also, if she has a partner, how they feel about these things. Nothing worse than a sex toy you feel like you can only use behind someone's back because their jealous of your dildo.
So, for example, I like my penises to come attached to human bodies, with the whole, y'know, alive thing going on there. That means that I don't particularly like penis-y looking dildos. I'd rather have something like one of the following:
1. Ella, who is stunningly beautiful but intended to excel at one thing, though she can also thrust from the other end.
2. Something glass that shows off a range of what glass can do, so like texture on one part but not another; maybe 2 different sized ends. Maybe something like the Silenzio? Or one of those double-ended ones that have different stuff going on at each end.
--something silicone that seemed just ideal for me and was aiming for a perfect shape to pleasure me but wasn't creating (additional) insecurities in my partner. Like .. God I have been sounding like a broken-record ad for these dildos, but the Tantus O2 Flurry, Cush, or revolution. Revolution is maybe big for a new user; Cush might be too, but lots of people love it. Flurry is more slender.

Nice review All the veins on this one look like they feel really good.
Thanks for the review!!!
thanks for the review. what are the measurements of this one?
nice review, I want to try out this toy even more now!
The Throb is about six inches long or so, the flared base is approximately 2" in diameter. This isn't a huge toy, but it is quite nice
Not that bad of a review
Thanks for the detailed and thoughtful review on this nicely shaped toy. I think I want it now, for sure.
