Buzz 1 - strap-on dildo by Tantus - review by Batty Harlot

This is by far my absolute favorite dildo to date - and for good reason! It can be used anally and/or in a harness thanks to its flared base. This toy might annoy you if used with a harness as the floppier silicone this toy is made of droops and cannot hold itself up. I would not recommend this to beginners at anal as it's too big to be used safely or comfortably. If you are new to anal, try the Small Silk first and work your way up to this one.

At the bottom of the base, there is a small hole in which to insert the one touch, one speed bullet the toy comes with, a bullet of your own choosing (just make sure it is the same size as the one speed), or Tantus' removable suction cup. Remember to always add a dab of lubricant to the bullet or suction cup before inserting it into the Buzz. If you do not, removal later on will be difficult and frustrating.

Another great thing about the Buzz is that you don't have to limit usage to just one person. Due to the material, it can be completely sterilized (without the bullet) and shared. You and your partner can enjoy this one together. Just don't forget to sterilize between every orifice.

The silicone is soft and smooth with absolutely no texture. It has lots of give to conform to your body's natural curves and you can comfortably bend it in half.

When I removed it from the package, I noticed no chemical smell or taste which you should expect from a well-made silicone toy. Tantus makes their toys with their own blend of nontoxic platinum silicone which is phthalates free, latex free, and hypo-allergenic. It is also nonporous and it can be sterilized for sharing or changing orifices.

A sleek design and an average size make this toy great for pretty much anyone, unless you are looking for a toy with more girth like the Curve which features a 1 3/8" diameter and a G-spot curve (hence the name). The Buzz, however, does not have a G-spot curve. It is completely straight, minus the droop when it stands alone or rests in a harness. Regardless, it still massages my G-spot a little. For those who need more pressure, this will not work for you. The material is too soft to apply the amount of pressure you need. Try the Ella instead for G-spot stimulation. She's lovely.

The Buzz is what I would call somewhat-realistic because it has the general shape of a penis with the semi-pronounced yet smooth head. It isn't completely straight and shapeless like a non-realistic dildo, but it doesn't have the extremely pronounced head, veins, or balls to make it semi-realistic. I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving this lying around since it isn't very discreet. It might not look like a regular dildo right off the bat, but it's pretty easy to figure out what it is used for. No one is going to believe whatever bogus excuse you make up when your roommate (or whoever) finds your toy drying on the bathroom counter.

This baby is a great ride whether I'm using it by itself or paired with clitoral stimulation. It is the perfect size for me, length and girth. At an insertable length of 5" plus the soft silicone, I don't have to worry about it bumping my cervix and bruising me.

I cannot say how well the toy performs in a harness since I do not own one. All I have to say on that subject is that it droops and flops a little, and it is good for vigorous thrusting - whether it be in a harness or used manually, solo or with a partner. If your partner happens to get a little zealous with the thrusting, you can take comfort in knowing that you will not be harmed by this toy the way you would with a glass dildo.

Beware the base is thin and flimsy. It may cause your hand to cramp if used for a long period of time.

For every day cleaning, you can wash it with hot water and a mild antibacterial soap or spray it down with toy cleaner. Should you need to sterilize, you can boil it, bleach it with a 10% solution, or stick it in the top shelf of the dishwasher (without soap!). You can sterilize it after every use if, for some reason, you don't think the water and soap is enough.

Silicone is a lint and (pet) hair magnet! You should keep this stored in a pouch or Ziploc bag by itself to make sure it stays clean and doesn't react with your other toys. Even if you keep it in a pouch, you should still give it a quick wash before each use, just to be sure.

A silicone toy plus silicone lubricant equals a ruined toy and a very sad owner. Avoid silicone- and oil-based lubes as they can and will react poorly with your Buzz. This should only be used with water-based lubricant such as my personal favorite, Astroglide. Be sure to double check the base of the lubricant if you purchase Astroglide. They also make a silicone-based version.

Like all of my other Tantus toys, the Buzz came nestled in a clamshell inside a clear plastic box. There is some product information in a few different languages and a little information about the company. The box is extremely flimsy. The tabs and flaps break off after a short amount of time due to the plastic being bent back and forth. It is okay for temporary storage, but you should definitely look into buying a pouch for long-term storage. And I should definitely look into taking my own advice...I still store my toy in the original package. It is completely falling apart; it's virtually worthless.
