New comers strap-on kit review

This might sound like a lukewarm review, since the kit is in many ways unremarkable, but I'm giving it five stars, because it turned out to be exactly how it appears on the site, which was exactly what I was hoping for: Simple, sleek, unintimidating, and a good dong for a first-timer with limited needs and a budget.

Pros
As-advertised, nice texture and firmness, simple, right for the price.
Cons
Permanent o-ring, but generally, no cons so long as you pay attention and know what you're getting.

The bias about size is not entirely a male thing. Having your partner shout, "It's so small!" when you take out your dong is a little upsetting, whether you're a man or, in my case, a lesbian showing a new toy to another woman. However, my girlfriend and I have very different needs in this area, and the small, silicone dildo that comes with New comers strap-on kit was what I had been looking for.

This was my first silicone toy, and I found myself pleasantly surprised by the texture, which had none of the unpleasant tackiness of the Sil-a-Gel dildos I've had in the past. The dildo itself is soft enough to adjust to pressure, but firm enough it holds its shape without support. It also has a nice, large base, so there was no fear that it would come out of its harness in the middle of a moment. It has no unpleasant seams or ridges from manufacturing.

The texture of the dildo is as smooth as it appears in the pictures; it isn't ribbed or in any other way adorned. This might disappoint anyone who is used to more sensation, but if you're interested in something small and not-too-rough to introduce new play to spaces that aren't exactly looking for the Vinyl Vengeance, it's a good dong.

The harness is fairly standard and, I would have to say, unremarkable, but for the price it's a good deal. My girlfriend had a good deal of trouble strapping in, but I think that's because it was her first time (my first time on the receiving end); the harness doesn't seem to be any more complicated than any four-strap harness. For anyone who is thinking of trying it for the first time, if you're hoping to give a sexy smile and strap in without breaking the mood, I recommend practice first.

The black fabric behind the dong has a felt-like texture, and provides some cushioning, but not much (good or bad, depending on what you want). I have no idea how sturdy it is in the long run, but it does not have the feel of a fabric that would hold up to machine-washing.

One thing worth noting about the harness, since it's hard to tell from the picture, is that the 1 and1/2 inch O-ring is permanently sewn in, which limits the harness's use if you hope to use it with multiple dildos. The ring does not tightly hold the dildo that comes with the set, so it does rotate, which can be annoying if you're hoping to hit the right spot with the curve on the end.
