One or two straps, you name the game
The Commando harness uses soft leather straps which can be connected to serve as either a g-string style or a two-strap style harness. It holds a cock firmly but flexibly and is made of high quality leather. One way it sets itself apart from many Aslan harnesses is that it allows the balls of a cock to hang freely.Published: April 30, 2009
Pros:
Versatile one or two strap use, easy to adjust.
Cons:
More expensive than nylon strap harnesses.
Historically, versatility hasn’t always been something folks prize in the bedroom. Bisexuals get snubbed as fence hoppers or sluts for wanting to go both ways. Gay men get pressured to be a top or a bottom but certainly not a switch. As a bisexual switch, I really love versatility, which makes the Commando harness, by Aslan, a little piece of heaven.
The Commando is an affordable leather harness that can be used either as a g-string or a two-strap harness, thanks to a removable leg strap that can be used or put aside based on your preference. The leather is soft on the inside of the straps and smooth on the outside, so it doesn’t chafe at all. In other respects, though, the Commando really is just like a belt—you can adjust the length of any piece using a series of belt hooks and holes, so it should fit folks of various sizes (I wear men’s pants with a waist of 36 inches, and had plenty of room to adjust on either side of that fit). In other words, it’s incredibly easy to put on and adjust and I imagine that, now that I know the lengths to adjust each strap to, it will become very quick to pull into place. Versatility of size and options? Check.
One nice perk of the fairly minimalist design of this harness is that it allows the balls of a dildo to hang freely. While the dildo industry is somewhat behind in its quest to make dildos with balls that hang realistically and swing, some cocks out there do have this feature and this harness allows them to swing like the tarzans they are. The minimalist design also allows the person wearing the harness to be penetrated while they have it on. Like I said—versatility. For those (trans) guys who like to be penetrated but also feel more comfortable with a dick in place, this is the harness for you.
And what about those guys and gals who like to be penetrated anally? Commando comes through for you too. Folks of any sex or gender who like anal penetration can use the Commando to hold a butt plug in place—just take off the second leg strap, slide the first to the middle so that it forms a g-string harness, and you’ll find that you can adjust it to hold a butt plug of any size in your ass.
Unfortunately, I don’t currently have a partner so I couldn’t try out the Commando harness just yet. Look for those experiences in a follow up review. In the meantime, though, I tried it on with a couple of different cocks to see how it felt. First, I tried a standard dick with free hanging balls. I found that they really did hang nicely and that I liked this better than other harnesses that have panels behind the o-ring. I also tried it on with the Share, by Fun Factory, which is the dick I usually use. Because it has a piece that goes inside me as well as the penetration piece for my partner, I wondered if the harness could still hold it firmly. I found that the Commando did a great job, allowing it to both move inside me (half the fun of having it on!) but still feeling like it was solidly in place when I wasn’t gyrating my hips.
To wash the Commando, use water and a bit of soap on a damp washcloth. Otherwise, keep the leather in shape in the long term by using any standard leather conditioner.

Commando Hair-Friendly?
-
Is this product friendly for all types of genital coiffe? Some hairier types don't meld well with devices like these, and I wonder if this is an exception?
-
In any harness the hair is going to get tangled around the dong's base, since you have the harness on while inserting the dong. Putting on underwear first could keep the hair loss down to a minimum. I wear underwear underneath my latex strap on.

Does this Harness sit low enough?
-
Does this Harness sit low enough for use with a shared or double ended diodo?
I've tried a few double strap harnesses before, but I was hoping by the looks of this one it sits low enough for the wearer to have the double ended dildo inside her and supported with the 'O' ring to use on her partner?

commando harness bleeding?
-
i am interested in getting the commando harness as a first harness, but i hear it bleeds. is this true? if so can i exchange it for a vegan? id much rather have a leather harness for the quality, so any help you can offer would be appreciated.
-
Mine is the only Aslan product that I ever got that bled everytime I washed it or stained my skin blue green when I sweat, so try something else!!! Try their Jaguar. It's soft garment leather rather than latigo leather.

The leather we use use for the Commando does not bleed when it becomes wet, we try to keep our leather supply consistent but on rare occasion due to shortages our supplier will ship a slightly different product. The harness you have may have been produced with an alternate batch of leather which was less resistant to color bleed. You can send your harness directly to us and we will replace it with a new Commando harness.
Please send your harness to our PO box listed on the ASLAN website.

Thank you for viewing Commando – double strap review page!

Very nice review. This seems like a very versatile harness. Your line "this harness allows them to swing like the tarzans they are" actually made me laugh out loud. Make sure you update us when you get a chance to use it with a partner. Thanks for the review.
Nice harness - looks like a sort of super Barely-There, and nice review.
Nice review Gabe.
But really: Is this any different than just taking the back of a simple harness and wearing it "bare"?
Glad to see EF now carry this! I think it is one of the simplest and most versatile Aslan harness designs. There is a good, simple set of instructions for this on their site:
commando
Look forward to the follow-up review!
Thanks, everyone!
Happy lady--That's a good point. It is a lot like what you would get from taking the backing out. The difference is that very few of the leather harnesses out there function with a backing; a lot are one piece that can't be taken apart. So, in that respect, this guy is unique in that he's high quality leather AND allows balls to hang freely.
Great review! I can't wait to get my own Commando harness!
P.S. I liked your review so much that I provided a link to it on my post.
Thanks, Ansley! I'm flattered!
Hummm
Great harness. Would it fit a guy of my size (26 waist)? Also, do you think that you could use it for pack and play purposes? In other words, would it be bulky under pants? Great review, you really hit its points!
Also, I wanted to know what "standard dick with free hanging balls" you used. I'm not sure of any, other than a few prosthetics, that have that feature. I know that one of Vixen's does.
Hey Sir-
Thanks. The Commando comes in two sizes, the smaller of which fits hips 26-44 inches, so it sounds like you'd be okay, just on the smaller end. If it weren't okay, though, it's really not too hard to bore an extra hole into leather and it won't fray the way fabric might.
re. balls, I was borrowing a friend's Goodfella-- I'm not sure if that's the Vixen's one you're referring to, though it is made by them. The balls on it aren't fantastic, but they're as good as any I've felt on a prosthetic cock.
My Commando bleeds a blue green color when I wear it, even though I have washed it a few times and conditioned it. Has this ever happened to you?
Fabulous review BTW!
It would fit you Sir. It did stain my packer though (its incredibley humid this year) despite washing it first. It was very comfortable. I wore breifs over it, otherwise you can see it through tight pants.
That's interesting, Kuuipogal--I didn't have that experience in terms of bleeding blue/green, though I did find that it gave off a bunch of brown/black fuzzies. I'll keep an eye out for the blue bleeding, though, and let you know if I find it and come up wtih anything that works to avoid it.
This is such a cool harness. Thanks for the review.
Beautiful harness. Good review.
Well made harness!
Good review
