Where Have You Been All My Life?!

If you're planning on purchasing a Raquel or any other product made out this plush VixSkin material you might as well put away your other dildos now. Chances are this is about to become your go-to. The plush, soft material of the Raquel will make you think twice about what a feels 'real' versus what feels like a toy. Fair warning though what Raquel makes up for in length it lacks in overall thickness.

Use

Curious about VixSkin but not a fan of their usual realistic dildos? Well then meet the lovely Raquel created by Vixen Creations. Sure Raquel has some flaws; great for anal p-spot use but not so good at hitting your g-spot vaginally for one. But the flared base helps to make this toy great for you to use anally, solo, with a harness, or with your partner. So even if this toy may have some flaws the way it feels when inside of you makes up for any disappointments one may at first perceive.

Material / Texture

According to the manufacturer VixSkin “Contains a premium silicone lubricant, suspended between the molecules, giving a more realistic feel and greater elasticity.” This is basically Vixen Creations own special brand of silicone, definitely not to be confused with their other silicone products. Now, for those of you who may not be aware silicone is a fantastic material to obtain as it is non porous and does not contained any tastes or scents. This combined with the deliciously realistic feel and ability to retain body heat make the Raquel live up to the motto ‘Worth Every Inch.’
Unlike it's other silicone counterparts the Raquel is a dual density toy. This means it starts out plush and squishy as you can see from the pictures below, then about 1 1/4 inches down you start to feel the firm inner core. I have read some reviews that are not so found of the dual density method used here as some reviewers have found the inner core to be too uncomfortable when shifting materials. Personally though, I am a fan. The Raquel is fairly floppy the it is, which leads me to think that if one were to get rid of the inner core it would be much to floppy to be a desirable toy.
This dildo does have some new silicone drag to it and feels slightly sticky to the touch. I would not worry though this seems to be new toy charm and will probably dissipate with time. Really this is a great toy for beginners and advanced users who are not looking for anything heavy in texture. With no bumps imitating the head of a penis this is the least textured, least realistic toy I own and, given the looks of most of the VixSkin line, I think that’s what the manufacturer was going for.

Design / Shape / Size

Okay I will admit to having a problem with the design and size of this toy. I know what you’re thinking: ‘How can you dislike this non-realistic pink dildo with a pearl like base? Besides the fact that it’s not discreet.’ While the Raquel is very visually appealing to me there is a problem with what some might consider to be the best part of the toy, it’s squishy head. While most reviewers have commented that the Raquel is a bit too thin I found myself feeling the opposite in terms of the toys head. You see this dildo is larger on top while it curves into a thinner frame. This means the circumference of the head measures at 5 inches while the rest goes around at 4 inches. With this in mind, if you’re a beginner and not a size queen Raquel might not be for you. I’m going to recommend this to the intermediate to advanced toy lovers who don’t need ultra thick toys.

Performance

As a slightly floppy toy Raquel can be quite flexible. Which means while it might not be firm enough to maneuver into hitting the g-spot it is still wiggly enough to work for p-spot stimulation. Although while in the process of testing out this dildo’s flexibility I found that the suction cup of the Raquel is not in the same tip top shape as that of my Mistress. I would wager that given Raquel's weight which according to the product page is 1lb, twice the amount of my Mistress, the suction cup is not able to hold this dildo as well. Due to this belief and the fact that this toy does love lint and hair you do not want to test out the base by placing it on a wall or desk to see how it holds. Trust me I speak from experience, it will fall and gather whatever is on your floor. On that note the suction cup is unreliable so if you are using this solo hold it at all times. If the Raquel is being used with a partner maybe consider a harness or still hold it if you prefer.

Care and Maintenance

Vixen Creations gives the warning the one should keep their toys standing up. Heck they even go a step further and provide you with the packaging to do so. I presume this is to help retain the dildo's shape as the manufacturer warns. In the case of the Raquel and all other VixSkin products there is a second reason as to why you should keep it in its case; this dildo can retain indentations. This does not mean it will tear. I have noticed that my Raquel has these little indentations like round specks had been there. I know they were not present when the product first arrived so these indentations must have occured while in my posession. I think happend after Raquel fell on the floor due to the not so great suction cup some deprise, possibly dirt from the outside got on it. So while the dirt is gone the indents remain. This will effect your ability to use this dildo, I cannot feel the indents when it is inserted. It would seem then that, similarly to real skin, this toy does‘bruise’. So I recomend doing yourself a favor and using the packaging provided to keep your Raquel in top condition.
Now for other maintenance matters, once you are done using your dildo you can either use soap and hot water or boil it for three minutes to disinfect. That is the beauty of nonporous toys. But please do remember that it would hazardous to your Raquel if you put anything less than a water based lube on it.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The Raquel comes in a clear, plastic, cylinder that is excellent for storage use. I will admit though that, for me at least, the black caps used to seal in this dildo are very difficult to close. I don’t know how discreet I would consider this packaging in terms of leaving it out for when company comes over but it does form a sort of protection for this dildo. The cylinder comes with a list of facts surrounding the Raquel including this tidbit, “Treat like your own skin, handle with care.” Given the sensitivity of the VixSkin I recommend heeding this advice.

    • Good for storage
    • Recyclable

Experience

I cannot explain to you how much I love this toy. I have since tried some other silicone toys for comparison and find that there is none the Raquel is so fantastic. The plush material feels closer to the real thing than any other silicone made product I’ve tried and even retains body heat making it ultra pleasurable. I just don’t know what to do with now that I own Raquel, I certainly don’t know if I can go back to regular silicone toys. For shame Raquel I think you have ruined me for all other toys!
