This was my first.
I would really recommend this one to a beginner, or for use with a harness and a tight hole. Just remember to go with water-based lube!Published: November 24, 2010
Pros:
Slim and smooth, compatible with a harness. Hygenic material.
Cons:
Choice of lube is limited (can't be silicone-based).
I lost my dildo virginity to this one in college. I'd had a hysterectomy a year or two before and had never given the hole much love, so it took a long time to decide on the one to use. I knew that tightness and a big decrease in natural lubrication might get in the way. These were big factors to consider when I went to the store, as if I didn't have enough on my mind with first-time nerves. So I chose this one for the fact that it's slim and smooth, and not scary looking!
For some background and context, I'm FTM. Began transition from female to male in high school, and I wasn't comfortable with the idea of penetration until after the surgical removal of breasts, ovaries, and uterus. After a while, I became curious about what it felt like. I knew that even if I didn't like the feeling, it would still give me useful knowledge of what my female partners felt. (And this toy definitely got some points for having a base compatible with a harness, as well as a hygenic material that makes it safe to share.)
After spending almost as much time picking out a water-based lube from a selection that covered nearly a third of one wall (Gun Oil, in case you're wondering), I took it home and gave it a try. It turned out to be the perfect thing to start with. Firm but pliable, slim and consistent, and smooth. No surprising bumps or tricky curves -- just a solid, simple, well-designed tool. After I found that I liked glass and metal much better, it sat in a box for a long while until I used it with a girlfriend who was hesitant about penetration -- and she loved this little one, which happened to be in her favorite color :)

Has anybody tried the silk with a Theo? I'm concerned about whether or not the base will fit in the "ring" on the harness.

KvalHello! I am looking for advice. I'm introducing my wife to anal, but she is a little uncomfortable and concerned about pain. Will Small silk be ok to start practicing anal, or should I go with smth smaller/bigger? -

Will Small silk be ok to start practicing anal, or should I go with smth smaller/bigger?Hi Kval! I think Silk is a wonderful toy for an anal novice. I've used this toy on a couple of anal beginners...it's very good because it's small and very smooth. You should not look for something bigger, she can only move up to a larger toy once she learns to relax the muscles with a smaller one. Good luck! -
You can always go smaller, with beads, etc. DON'T go bigger, especially if she's apprehensive about it! Start with a finger or two before you buy a toy. If she's not ok with that, then it is silly to waste your money.
And PLEASE remember, Lube is your friend. Use lots of it. When you think you have enough, use some more! Thicker stuff, like Maximus, is really good in these situations.
