Throb by Tantus - Simply mindblowing, a wonderful dildo

The Throb is an amazing dildo. It has many uses whether you use it as a dildo or in a harness. The silicone used is a great, safe material. It is well textured and feels wonderful in insertion. It can also be used safely in anal play. The only real con to the toy is the veins on the toy can make it difficult to clean.

Pros:
Safe material, well textured, over all feels good to use, great shape and length
Cons:
Veins on the toy take a bit more care to clean.

extremely useful review
Throb by Tantus is an amazing silicone dildo. With its wide base, the Throb is easily used inside of a harness and will fit through most rings. It has “veins” that run through it, giving it a more realistic feel. It comes in black and midnight purple. As mentioned, this toy is silicone and veined. Silicone is a soft material, as opposed to the hard plastic or rubber of other dildos on the market. The veins give a thrilling experience for vaginal play. I believe that anyone could enjoy this toy. It has several uses and with little care this dildo will last a long time. This toy is also safe for anal play.

The Throb is designed to look like a penis. It has nice, deep veins that add to the pleasure of inserting this toy. Even though this toy does not have any vibrating features or such, it will not let you down. The curve to the dildo can caress against the g-spot, which feels amazing. This is a great toy for just about anyone, and it is very safe. It is approximately 5 ¾ inches long, with about 5 inches of that insertable. The circumference of the toy is four inches, and the diameter is 1 ¼ inches. This toy is made of food-grade materials, and for those allergic to latex, note that this toy is also latex free. It is hypo-allergenic, phthalates free, and also non-porous.

Pros to this toy are the flared base, which makes it very compatible for a harness. Being silicone, it is a soft toy. The veins on the Throb add to the pleasure of using it. It is relatively easy to insert into the vagina, and the veins are pronounced well, so you will definitely feel it as you use it. This toy worked wonders for me, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The only con to this toy that I could find is that cleaning it can be a bit of a hassle. You have to be very careful when cleaning the Throb to get down in the grooves of the veins to make sure any juices are not hiding down inside.

I did use this toy in a harness. The o-ring supplied with the harness fit the Throb well. However, the overall performance wasn't fantastic, but this was most likely simply due to the harness. The harness was awkward and did not fit quite right. I would not call this a pro or a con to the Throb, at least until I can use it with a proper harness.

The easiest way to clean the Throb is to simply use a mild soap and warm water. As mentioned above, when cleaning, be sure to get into the grooves of the Throb to ensure that all juices or lubricants are fully removed. When sharing, always use a condom or other form of toy cover. After all, safe sex is very important, even when playing with toys. Other cleaning options do include the fact that this toy is dishwasher safe, also boilable, and bleachable. However, these options do not ensure that the toy's veins will be completely clean.

The packaging of the Throb is very basic. It is a red and clear box, with a form-fitting box inside of it to keep the shape of the toy. Storing this toy inside the box and the protective plastic casing is a good idea. The plastic casing inside the box will keep the toy from bending out of shape.
Experience
The first time I used my Throb, I used it for masturbation. I have never had an experience as great as the one I received from the Throb, as far as dildos go. It caressed my g-spot, and overall, it simply took me to heaven. Or at least, Sex Heaven. I orgasmed hard, and it felt fantastic. I would recommend this toy to anyone because it is definitely worth its money.

Using it as a strap on was a little uncomfortable for me, mainly because of the harness I used. I will be getting another harness, and when I do I will test it out with a proper harness and see how the toy works for me as a strap on.

Again, I would recommend this toy to anyone. It is definitely amongst my favorites in my toy chest.
Follow-up commentary
I still love my Throb. The feeling of the veins of it is simply amazing. I couldn't ask for anything more with either a dildo or when using it as a strap on. I recommend this toy to anyone who wants a good dildo or a dong for a strap on.

Thanks for the great review. How soft is the silicone in this one? I have the Tantus VIP, and that is way too large and firm for my wife.

Amazing review. I'm glad this toy worked out so well for you since my experience with the Throb wasn't as successful. It really is a great toy though.

@leatherlover - The silicone is pretty firm, in my opinion. It doesn't have much give at all. But since it has a 4" circumference, it's easier to handle than larger firm toys.

Wow, look at those veins! They would be a pain to clean but it sounds like a great dildo. Thanks for the review!

  • Best type of dildo
    • What is the best type of dildo to give to a woman who has never used a dildo before?
    • Hmm... I would guess something close to a size she's used to (medium sized if you're unsure on that), with a nice curve, easy to clean, perhaps some texture. The Throb would be a great choice.
    • I think it depends on a couple of things:

--what she wants to do with a dildo (e.g., g-spot vs. thrusting) ... what her hopes and dreams are sexually (cue violin music)

--what she likes and doesn't about material/texture, and I'd guess that lots of people don't know for sure, but they do have an idea

--what your relationship is to her

--how she feels about penises (also, if she has a partner, how they feel about these things. Nothing worse than a sex toy you feel like you can only use behind someone's back because their jealous of your dildo.

So, for example, I like my penises to come attached to human bodies, with the whole, y'know, alive thing going on there. That means that I don't particularly like penis-y looking dildos. I'd rather have something like one of the following:

      1. Ella, who is stunningly beautiful but intended to excel at one thing, though she can also thrust from the other end.
      2. Something glass that shows off a range of what glass can do, so like texture on one part but not another; maybe 2 different sized ends. Maybe something like the Silenzio? Or one of those double-ended ones that have different stuff going on at each end.

--something silicone that seemed just ideal for me and was aiming for a perfect shape to pleasure me but wasn't creating (additional) insecurities in my partner. Like .. God I have been sounding like a broken-record ad for these dildos, but the Tantus O2 Flurry, Cush, or revolution. Revolution is maybe big for a new user; Cush might be too, but lots of people love it. Flurry is more slender.
