Well Stryke Me Down

I'm a big fan of the Doc Johnson Vac-u-loc system and I found the Stryker to be an excellent addition to the Vac-u-loc fleet. It's nicely sized and weighted, realistically shaped, and very manageable in use. It is a large toy but not so massive as some of the other Vac-u-loc toys. If you are an experienced toy user and are looking to expand your strap-on collection, look no further.

Use

The Stryker dildo from Doc Johnson is a realistic toy molded from porn star Jeff Stryker. While it's difficult to imagine someone so impressively endowed, anatomical realism is likely not why you are reading this review. It is certainly on the larger end of the dildo spectrum though by no means the largest. The Stryker is part of the Doc Johnson Vac-u-loc system; it features an opening in the base to accept the Vac-u-loc plug to attach to a harness or other accessory such as a suction cup for solo use. Stryker is quite heavy and has a pronounced downward curve which makes it slightly awkward to wear in a harness, but when attached to a suction cup or that bouncy ball Doc Johnson makes, it performs well and is a bit more stable.

Stryker being a realistic dildo, it is suitable for both anal and vaginal use by skilled players. The size makes this a challenging choice for someone just venturing into the world of over-sized toys but for the more experienced this can be a real pleasure to use. Be sure to take the curve into account when using this toy. The shape is nearly opposite of the standard G-spot stimulation shape and you may find it more effective when it is turned around backwards.

Material / Texture

Material and texture are sometimes a tricky subject with Doc Johnson toys and Stryker is no exception. Stryker, like many other Doc Johnson toys, is listed as being made of rubber though that is not entirely accurate. Doc Johnson developed a material called Sil-a-gel some time ago and it is used as an additive to many of their toys in order to give them anti-bacterial properties. Because the toys are not entirely Sil-a-gel, or because the updated material data has not been supplied to Edenfantasys, you still see some Doc Johnson toys listed as being made of rubber or PVC. Don't let that deter you though, the Doc Johnson varieties of these materials are far safer than the standard versions. The packaging for Stryker for example states the toy is PVC, Pthalate Free, and Sil-a-gel.

For the texture of this toy, I am very impressed with the realism and design of Stryker. The material is dense and heavy and gives this toy a very solid, stable feel. Some Sil-a-gel toys have a slight odor out of the package and this is no exception, though the smell vanished with the first cleaning. Because this is a realistic toy it has detailed veins raised from the surface and colored appropriately. The veins are not exaggerated like some toys and they do not affect the feeling of Stryker as a whole. The detailing on the head and testicles is exceptional.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is the main factor with this toy versus other dildos. The pronounced downward curve makes some consideration necessary to make full use of this item. The toy itself is over 9 inches long and rather than being of a uniform thickness, it swells in the middle before tapering back down at the tip. This gives the Stryker an elongated blimp-like appearance and feel. Personally I like this design. Rather than having a toy with an unchanging and uninteresting thickness, or a toy that thickens to an absurd amount all the way down at the base, what we have here is a toy that starts out at a smaller size, swells to its thickest point halfway down the shaft, and then shrinks again allowing you to take the whole rest of it with out a huge degree of effort. You get the sensation of length without the massive girth found in other toys.

Performance

First thing I noticed about this toy was the weight. Being a Sil-a-gel toy makes it dense and heavy and quite stable. The large base makes the Stryker able to stay in place and mounts very securely to the Vac-u-loc harness systems. I found it worked very well with a Doc Johnson harness that I already owned though the weight made the system a little hard to manage. I found I had to support the dong with my hand or it pulled down and angled the Vac-u-loc plate into my pelvis. Once the toy is in use however, you should have no trouble getting it where you want it.

I installed the Doc Johnson Vac-u-loc suction cup into the Stryker to see how it did on its own. I found the weight didn't affect the toy much. The Stryker was able to stand up by itself with a forward lean. Stuck onto a table and then the shower wall didn't throw off this toy for a second. The Stryker remained solid and stable on all surfaces I tried it on. Even though it does fine as a standalone toy, I believe Stryker really shines as a strap-on toy.

Care and Maintenance

Stryker is primarily PVC with Sil-a-gel so no oil based lubricants please. Silicone works just fine and I recommend it for anal use since it will not dry out nearly as fast as water-based lube. It can be a little annoying to clean and you should take extra care not to get any inside the opening for the Vac-u-loc plug. Water-based lube is always a good choice since it rinses clean and does not damage toys. It may wear out a bit fast on this toy though, the texturing of the shaft allows the lube to run clean away if you aren't careful. I found the texture of the testicles and the head of the penis to be the most difficult to clean. Both contain many grooves and wrinkles and they catch lubricant very easily.

Cleaning the Stryker is no big deal, I use hot water to dissolve the lubricant and wipe it all down with an antibacterial wipe. Soap can also be used and it does a good job of getting into all the little cracks. Don't let the rubber material warning on the Eden page worry you, the addition of the Sil-a-gel makes this toy far more antibacterial and resilient than a plain PVC rubber item would be. It isn't quite up to silicone levels of body safety but you don't have to worry about the Stryker rotting away in your toybox.

Speaking of toyboxes, I store the Stryker the same way I store another Doc Johnson Sil-a-gel toy. Both are large toys and need a lot of space. I have a couple jelly toys in there as well and since some toys react very badly to contact with jelly, I keep everything separated in large Ziploc bags. The Stryker fits inside a gallon bag without much trouble and I know it will be safe from damage and dust in there.

Packaging

Stryker comes in a standard cardboard box using Doc Johnson's new color-coded system. In the system a red box denotes an entire set of harness, plug, and whatever required accessories there might be. A purple box denotes a toy that is compatible with all the Doc Johnson harnesses and sets. A blue box contains an accessory item such as a replacement plug or suction cup. The Stryker comes in a purple box since it can be used with all Doc Johnson sets and accessories.

If I have learned one thing from Doc Johnson over the years it is that once you take their product out of its box, you will not get it back in again. I do not recommend this box for storage, both because it is hard to put Stryker back inside and because there is a giant color photo of a penis on the outside of the box. Just throwing that out there.

Great review. I had a Stryker years ago and had no idea of the true (huge) size before I bought it, so showing it off in the video is a great help to those who aren't quite sure just how big this dildo really is.
