Use

The Bare As You Dare Harness is used for strap-on play, and it is designed for a female to wear. It is a very inexpensive at $18.99. This harness is also very basic and I would recommend it to anyone looking into strap-on play. If you have reservations about whether or not you will like strap-on play, then this is a great harness to get because you will invest only a small amount of money.

You can choose a compatible dildo, as it does not come with one. The harness comes with a 1 1/2 inch O ring so be sure that the dildo you choose fits a 1 1/2 inch O ring or purchase the correct ring separately. I purchased a pack of O rings in different sizes because I knew the dildo that I chose was not compatible with a 1 1/2 inch O ring.

Material

The material is very thin nylon with metal snaps to change the O ring. The O ring that it comes with is metal. I changed it out with a black rubber O ring to fit the dildo that I chose to use and it looks fine with that too! There are also metal snaps at the back where there is another metal O ring (that's not functional) but the snaps are glued down and that ring is not removable.

The material feels just like nylon, no surprise there. The only problem is the straps are very thin so they might cut into you if you adjust the harness too tightly. I didn't have a problem with that though.

Design / Craftsmanship

The design of this harness is very simplistic. The front is designed so that single strap stimulates the clitoris during motion. The back of the harness is a g-string style which was actually comfortable, despite the fact that I don't like thongs very much.

The quality seems really great. I can imagine this lasting a long time. The nylon is durable and the metal snaps for changing the O rings are also durable and easy to use. Because you can change the O rings, this harness is compatible with a wide range of toys.

Size / Fit

The description states that it fits up to 54" hips and I imagine it would. It is very adjustable. I was more concerned about how small of a person this may fit. I am a size 0-2 and I was able to adjust it to fit me. Because this harness is so adjustable, it would fit a variety of users.

The adjustment traps are located on both sides of the hips and at the very back. The third adjustment is located in the back (near the rear non-functioning O ring). It isn't shown in the photo. The third strap helps to adjust the g-string portion of the harness. The strap is shorter than the straps for the hips and it does not get in the way.

Before I purchased this harness, I read a review that said there is a fine line between this harness fitting "just right" and it being uncomfortable. That IS quite true. Be sure to take time and be patient during the first fitting session (and perhaps the first few). I had my husband help me at first.

Performance

The clitoris is stimulated during use because the strap rubs against it. You can use a dildo with vibrations for increased stimulation. I found that it did stimulate my clitoris and I was able to orgasm solely from that (and from the sheer naughtiness of pegging my husband). One thing to remember is that you will receive increased friction if you thrust harder. That was something that I was unable to do because the dildo we chose was too short and I had to be careful so that it would not slide out during pegging.

Because this harness is so adjustable, you may be able to adjust it so that the base of the dildo actually stimulates part of the clitoris. I was able to adjust it to do that. Part of the base of the dildo rested on my clitoris and part of the strap stimulated me as well. Remember, you have THREE straps to adjust to a perfect fit. You can make the harness sit as low on your hips as it is comfortable for you.

The harness did not shift during use and the O ring also secured the dildo very well. I found it to be very comfortable. The only caution is that it's not very easy to adjust and it does take some time. It's not a quick harness that you would throw on. You have to fiddle with it and get it just right.

It was also really easy to undo the snaps and switch out the O ring. It was a snap!

The straps did not cause me any discomfort, but one review that I read before purchasing suggested wearing sexy panties underneath the harness if you experience discomfort with the straps.

Care and Maintenance

This nylon harness is very easy to clean and care for. We have gotten lubricant on it (water based) and it washes off easily. I store it in a box.

Packaging

This harness is packaged in plastic with a picture of a women darning the harness. There were no instructions included.

Personal comments

The dildo that I purchased to use with this harness (for pegging) is the Tantus Compact. I thought that the harness was causing me low back pain but then I realized that the dildo is actually too short to be practical for pegging. I have to bend towards my husband and it puts strain on my lower back. Since we haven't decided on a replacement dildo, I have not gotten to try this harness with another dildo. I can't 100% rule out that it's not causing my back pain, but I don't believe that it is.

Experience

I tried this harness on once, just to see how it works, before we had our first pegging session. The second time, I had my husband help me adjust it for a more comfortable fit. It is tricky to fit and it does take patience. My husband likes the way it looks on me, it is truly a "bare as you dare" harness. It also works well with lingerie because the design is very simplistic and well, bare!

Even though the dildo was too short to be practical for pegging, the harness let me control the dildo very well. I felt extremely in control and as if I didn't even really have a harness on. I am quite impressed with this harness that costs less than $20 dollars.

If you get this harness, just be sure to take time and patience to test it out and adjust the fit correctly. Otherwise you might get discouraged and toss it to the side.

If anyone is curious, the Tantus Compact has an insertable length of just 4". The recommended length to be suitable for pegging is around 5.5". It's a fine dildo but I would not recommend it for pegging, especially if you really want to get into thrusting (it will just slip out!).

I use it to pack, that's it. Good review!!! I found it "fiddly" too.

When I first saw this I thought the center strap would be painful, but now that you explained the function I'm impressed. Really affordable too. Hmm... now if I could just get hubby to let me peg him properly... Big smile
  • Contributor: spicywife
Michele - The center strap is not painful at all. You are able to adjust it just right. If you had the center part too tight then I could imagine it might. Good luck on convincing him to let you peg him with a harness! Smile

You might want to look at either the Sedux Glam, Vixen Smooth Operator, Boy 1, or Happy Valley Delight. They're about the same in circumference, and with the exclusion of the Smooth Operator they have the same slight texturing.

Thanks Scott. I have been doing my research and I've actually looked at all of those that you've mentioned. I am particularly interested in the Sedeux Glam. Since it has just one review, I might be eligible to review it through EF.

The circumference being nearly the same as the Compact is important because my husband isn't quite ready to upgrade to a wider one yet. Thanks for keeping that in mind. I appreciate your comment!

Great review of this harness. We've looked at it but always thought that it would be really sloppy. Does it shift around a lot/allow the dildo too much play? It just seems that there isn't much keeping a fake cock against the wearers body.
  • Contributor: spicywife
Nope, like I said in my review the harness did not shift at all (it stayed firmly yet comfortably tight against my hips) and the O ring kept the dildo in place. I haven't tried it with a larger dildo than the Tantus Compact yet, so I guess I can't attest to that but I doubt there would be a problem.

The fact is, the harness secures around your waist and at the back. The O ring is sturdy (whether you use the metal one provided or have to switch out for a smaller O ring to accommodate a different dildo, which we did and it was rubber).

I hope that helps! Thanks for the comment. It's not much of an investment either Smile

Sounds good to me! The price is right too. Now all I have to do is work on my fiance. He barely lets me use a small toy on him, let alone a dildo. He has been interested in an upgrade, so who knows. In time, I think I could convince him to let me use a harness!

It can be a lot of fun, so here's hoping that he'll let you someday! Smile
