Allegro - glass dildo by Orion - review by Annemarie

The Allegro is a double-ended dildo, ordered with extra texture, with one end more tapered than the other. This is definitely for those that enjoy a ribbed/wrapped texture, and not for the incredibly easy-to-stimulate. I don't think it's that it would work for beginners very well, though for the moderately experienced to advanced users, it's great.

I really liked using this toy against my clit, rubbing the ribs up and down, for a different way to use it. Also, I like to have my significant other tease me with each rib: slowly sliding it inside of me while twisting along with the ribs. You can use it in temperature play, too! Submerge it in hot or cold water or put it in the freezer for a few minutes and discover new sensations.

It is not flared enough for anal penetration, however. You also do need to be careful when thrusting to avoid bruising your insides.

I can almost feel the texture in my vagina as I think about it; I doubt that anyone could forget the gloooorious ribs on this thing. In fact, sometimes, it can be OVERstimulating. The ridges are more drastic than they appear in the photos. Because of such, they may be difficult to clean.

Glass is wonderful. Addicting, even. Incredibly easy to clean, easy to store, easy to use. The Allegro is made with tempered/pyrex/borosilicate glass, meaning it's completely non-porous, phthalates free, hypoallergenic, tasteless, and odorless. Glass is incredibly rigid, which can be great for pinpointing pressure and also... not so great because of the lack of give, which can cause injury.

The Allegro is cotton candy pink (seems to be the majority of glass toys are cotton candy pink), and has 3 distinct bulges: a tapered bulge, a middle bulge, and a more round, ball-like bulge (think like one of the tapered bulges cut off in the middle). I rather like the tapered bulge for penetration, but you can use either end. I really like the middle bulge; it rubs against my g-spot in just the right way.

This toy is just over 7 inches long, a wonderful length that works wonderfully for most women. Between the bulges, it is 4.25" in circumference (1.25" in diameter), and around the bulges, it is 4.5" in circumference (1.5" in diameter). I have found that many glass toys aren't girthy enough for me, but this one fits in me just right, without being TOO thick due to the nature of glass. It's heavier than most other glass toys I have at one pound.

It's not really discreet, but it is still wonderfully gorgeous, almost whimsical.

I waited some time before trying out this amazing Allegro, and now I wish I could go back in time and play with it from day one! I have yet to be let down by any aspect of this toy. The ribs can sometimes be a bit much, but I embrace lots of texture.

It isn't for quick thrusting as it can irritate my vaginal opening sometimes, but it is amazing as a toy to slowly inch in and out, feeling each of the ridges.

Being glass, the Allegro is SUPER easy to care for. Hot water, soap, and a washcloth (for getting between all of those ridges), a 10% bleach solution, the dishwasher, boiling for 3 minutes, isopropyl alcohol, or simply your favorite toy cleaner. The ridges are somewhat hard to clean; I usually soak my Allegro in steaming hot water for a few minutes and then wash it down with a washcloth.

Also, being glass, particularly tempered/borosilicate/pyrex, you should avoid dropping it from any height whether it's in or outside of its pouch and exposing it to sudden extreme temperatures, like going straight from the dishwasher to the oven. This type of glass will break in large pieces instead of shattering into a million. Be sure to inspect your Allegro from time to time.

It is compatible with all (silicone-, water-, and oil-based) lubes, and you NEVER need more than a small dollop to coat the entire thing.

Storing is easy as there is a non-padded, faux-velvet, rope-cinching pouch. The quality is somewhat questionable, but for basic storing it works. I store mine, in its pouch alongside another glass dildo in one of the Don Wands pouches.

The packaging is rather typical for an inexpensive toy: plastic and rather cheesy. It was not discreet or high quality, though it is recyclable! There were basic instructions included in several different languages, but nothing in depth. It did come with the pouch, described above.

Even after owning many glass toys, the Allegro sticks out because of its intense ridges and its lovely bulges. I recommend this to those moderately experienced users who enjoy LOTS of texture.

I really liked running the Allegro along my hard nipples and up and down along my clitoris. It's a definite bonus to be able to stimulate other erogenous zones than just doing the basic in-n-out.
