extremely useful review
The Lucid Dream #14 harness and dildo set is my second Vac-U-Lock harness system from Doc Johnson (the first is a leather g-string style) and by far the more comfortable of the two. I think the only reason I purchased the other one is because it came with a realistic dildo, but I would have been much happier with this particular style of harness, because there's less fumbling with buckles and straps, and hello, it's crotchless! Now that's something anyone can appreciate!

Materials and Texture
Frankly, I wasn't expecting a quality harness, but this one is actually well-made! It's constructed of PVC for the front and back panels, and a black, lightweight, ribbon-like nylon material for the side straps. The PVC has a soft, felt-like fabric on the backside to make it more comfortable for the wearer.

The purple G-Spot dildo is constructed of a solid piece of ABS, Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene, which is a plastic resin that is fairly flexible and phthalate free. It's smooth, shiny, and feels rubbery, with minimal drag. It did smell a bit and as expected, it tasted like plastic.

The Harness
It's crotchless, and trust me, that's a big plus. Now, before the first use, you will need to snap on the plastic plate from which extends a small black, stacked plug that will hold the toy in place. There are 4 metal snaps on this that attach to the inside of the harness' front panel.

Donning the harness is very fast and easy! You put it on like a pair of underwear, then tighten the plastic quick release straps to the desired fit. It's a one-size fits most style, so anyone from 34" (per my measurements at the smallest setting) to 44" in the hips can wear this. I have 40-inch hips and it fit perfectly with about 5" of extra strap hanging on either side.

Then, take the included purple dildo, or another compatible one, and give its bottom opening a shot of the included powder lubricant, then pop it on the knob. The vacuum created will hold it in place securely, so don't worry about it slipping off. Attaching it without the powder lubricant can be difficult, I've tried it, but if you should run out of it, Doc Johnson sells it separately here: [https://www.edenfantasys.com/sex-essentials/lubricantsanal-lubes/vac-u-lock-powder-lubricant], but cornstarch also seems to work. Just don't use talc, it's supposedly linked to cervical cancer.

Dildo Design
I measured the purple g-spot pleaser at 7-1/2" long, with roughly 4-1/2" of it being insertable. It has a golf-club like appearance to it and it's pretty floppy because of the too thinly-tapered portion in the middle of the shaft. I don't fuck women, so I tested it myself and it felt amateur and not very satisfying; however, this may be attractive to a couple who wants to take it easy as they begin to explore strap-on sex. The tip is bulbous, with the largest portion being 1-1/2" in diameter and 5-1/2" in circumference. There's a fine seam at the base of the bulb and some bubbling on the inside, neither of which detract from the toy's functionality.

Care & Maintenance
The box comes with an instruction manual that also highlights the other available attachments in the Vac-U-Lock line. The harness, dildo, and plug should be cleaned after every use with a mild dish washing liquid and warm water. I've found that if the toy sweats, it causes the powder lubrication to get wet and over time it will build up in to a crust on the plug, so it's best to give it a scrub regularly. Additionally, you could use a spray-on toy cleaner too.

Any lubrication will work, with the exception of a petroleum-based one, for the manual states that "it will not function properly" if you do use one. As to what they mean by this, I couldn't tell you and I'm just going to take their word for it because I don't want to ruin it. Water-based is always a good choice!

This system is totally portable, but it isn't exactly discreet. I store mine in a plastic bag in my toy drawer.

Survey Says?
It's not the Cadillac of harnesses, but it did a pretty good job for me and my partner. If you can't afford to spend a lot on a pricier model, this complete system may work out well for you. I suggest picking out at least one other compatible toy to accompany your order in case you don't like the one included with it. I had some other realistic dongs laying around from my older set, which were more suited to my needs.
Experience
The bulb on the included dildo was too large for my partner's puckerhole, so after swapping it out for something more "manhole" friendly, I put the harness to the test. It stayed on well during play and I loved not having to take it off if I wanted a good licking or a doggie-style sticking!
Follow-up commentary
First of all, I did get a lot of use out of this harness, while it lasted, which unfortunately, was less than 2 months. If you plan on being a heavy duty harness user, DON'T BUY THIS ONE! It wasn't so bad until the ribbon kept getting twisted and it started to slide off during wear. I'd straighten it out, it would twist again, then not fasten properly. So now, it's pretty much useless because it won't stay on.

If you want a good harness, invest in a more expensive one with buckles or one by Sportsheets. Or, if you really like the Doc Johnson Vac-U-Lock system, pick up a leather harness, such as the [https://www.edenfantasys.com/VAC-U-LOCK-FEMALE-SET/adult-toys-dvds-2811|Female Vac-U-Lock Set, which is much more durable.

I'm kind of sad this one didn't work out, because I liked how it was crotchless. This one has been officially "retired" from my collection, including the purple ding-a-ling.
