My G-Spot Gem

With its delicious curve and slick shaft, the Amethyst has slid its way in as one of my favorite toys of all. The angle is just perfect to find my G-Spot every time with no effort, and the rounded, tapered head is perfect for precise stimulation. The shape is easy to hold without my often-abused wrists complaining as I rock it into all the right places.

Use

The Amethyst's strong curve seems to find all the right places. Ideal for G-Spot play, the curve makes the toy ergonomic not just for internal anatomy, but comfortable to hold during use. Many times my wrists complain when trying to angle a toy for g-spot stimulation, but this toy seemed to do all the work for me!

Made of rigid glass, this toy is best suited for experienced people looking to step up their G-Spot play from softer, more pliable toys. Because it is glass, it is best for rocking or very careful thrusting -- more vigorous thrusting could result in a bruised cervix, or the curved head catching on the pubic bone. I speak from experience here; I got a little carried away around the third time I used it. This toy just does its job so amazingly well I couldn't help myself! I'll need to control my enthusiasm better in the future! If you use it for partner play, make sure the giving partner understands the need to take care.

Glass is excellent for temperature play. This toy could be warmed by placing it in warm water before play (not too hot!) or cooled by placing it in cold water. Also, because glass is safe with any lube, this dildo would be excellent for use in the shower or tube with a silicone-based lube. Since it is glass, it is breakable, so care should be taken if traveling with it.

This toy could be used anally with caution, because of the curve and long straight bulged side with a slight flare. For this purpose, because the flare of the bulged side is subtle, it is best to keep a hold of the toy during use for safety reasons. The tapered heads may be too pointy for some as an anal toy.

Material / Texture

The Amethyst is Pyrex glass, a non-porous material which garners a safety rating of 10 on EdenFantasys. It has no taste or smell.

The texture is deliciously slick and smooth, without a seam in sight, and the shape is bulged. Because it is non-porous and so smooth, it takes all kinds of lube extremely well. Only a dab is needed.

This toy is rigid toy, and thus is not necessarily the best for a beginner. Care should be taken when using this toy for thrusting, as there is a potential for a bruised cervix or pubic bone. Owchies for days, believe me.

However, because the curved end is so smooth, this is a great "first glass" toy. It is my first glass toy, and I am now a glass convert! Before this, I insisted I only liked soft, plushy toys, because my one experience with metal was uncomfortable. Well -- I lied. I love glass. Thank you, Amethyst! My wishlist has now grown by half a dozen glass toys.

The bulged end could be a step up for those looking to expand their play into rigid and a bit more texture.

Design / Shape / Size

This glass toy features a non-realistic, rounded teardrop-shaped head at the curved end, and a series of bulges culminating in another teardrop-shaped head at the other, straight end.

It is a fairly slender toy, with the widest bulge being around 1 1/4 inch. The head of the curved end is around 1 inch in diameter. The smooth, curved shaft is approximately 3/4 inch in diameter. The insertable length of each end is approximately 3.5 to 4 inches, with the toy being approximately 6 1/2 inches long top to bottom (not measuring along the curve). This may vary slightly from toy to toy.

It is a gorgeous toy. I got pink, even though pink is not one of my favorite colors, simply because I liked how translucent and brilliant it looked in the photos. It did not disappoint. I love how it catches the light.

Amethyst

Not intended to be girthy or filling, this toy is more for pinpoint precision, zeroing in on your G-Spot, which it does with remarkable accuracy. How does it know? My G-Spot is shallow, and the toy just slipped right in to where it needed to be, the first time, with no effort on my part. Many people with varying female anatomies have reported the same thing.

Amethyst Bulged End

After experiencing the wonder that is the curved end, and its G-Spot stimulating prowess, I have not attempted to use the bulged, straight end, and probably won't do so very often. This end makes a superb handle for me. People who like bulges and popping sensations may enjoy this end for play a great deal, however.

Performance

This toy does what it's designed to do, for me, and, reading the reviews, for many bearers of female anatomy. It finds the G-Spot with grace and and ease, and allows for focused, firm stimulation. It's amazing.

My reaction to slipping it inside me the first time was definitely one of gleeful surprise, as it found just the right spot right away, without searching or angling. Just whoop, there it is. And oh how there it was! My G-Spot is located very shallowly in my vagina, so many G-Spot toys fall short (or rather, long). I have never had a toy that slid so perfectly into place with my anatomy.

From reading many other reviews, this toy works for many varied female anatomy arrangements, from shallow to deep; however, every body is different, and it may not work for everyone.

The hard material must be used carefully, but because it is so rigid, it is perfect for rocking and rubbing against the G-Spot. It seems to be best at focusing the stimulation in the narrow end of the teardrop head. The other end could provide a popping sensation for a different sort of stimulation, perfect for those who like a lot of stimulation to their entrance.

Care and Maintenance

Glass is extremely low maintenance. It can be boiled if care is taken that the toy doesn't bang around in the pot too much. It can be disinfected with an isopropyl alcohol solution (rubbing alcohol). It can be run through the dishwasher. It can also be washed with soap and water. Because it is so slick, it's easy to clean, and washes up very easily.

Pyrex glass is compatible with all types of lubes.

The toy comes with its own, un-padded storage pouch. The Amethyst is not a huge toy, which makes storage options easier. This toy wouldn't take up too much room in any drawer or toy box, though its rigid nature means its shape must be accommodated. It is safe for glass to touch all other toys -- however, care should be taken when storing it that it doesn't get broken by banging into other hard toys or surfaces, as it is breakable.

Packaging

The Amethyst is shipped in a storage bag. It was simply wrapped in bubble wrap inside this bag.

Storage Bag and Packaging

The storage bag is good for storage. However, it is not what I would call a "premium" pouch. Although it seems fairly made, it's of cheap velveteen, with a nylon cord. It is not padded, meaning it doesn't offer much protection to your toy. I personally think the color is a poor choice for the toy it holds. It clashes with the pink, and likely would with several other colors the Amethyst comes in as well. Okay -- I do believe I'm spoiled, when I worry about my storage options coordinating with my sex toys!

At any rate, I believe I will sew a padded storage pouch for my Amethyst and use the velveteen bag it came with for another, less fragile toy.
